Not sure why I keep torturing myself like this, but I love learning and I love flying. This week saw another dream achieved. Four years ago, while studying for my Remote Pilots Licence, I met a woman who told me she was the first woman in QLD to become, and at that stage, the only woman to be licensed to fly multi-rotor drones up to 25kg. I was inspired! Fast forward four years and today I joined her. 🤩🤩 So glad I never listened to my very first trainer, retired army chopper pilot Nick, who proudly announced to my class of 9 men and me, 'When I see a female pilot cross the tarmac, I say to myself - there goes a waste of a good cook!!' And who asked me the morning of my practical flying exams, 'Will you be able to come back to Brisbane when you fail flying today?' If only I had a spare $200,000++ to study for a helicopter licence. Special thanks to UAV Air's incredible trainer Luke, who never saw me as a wasted cook.

So many stories to tell and lessons to teach us ....just look into the eyes of this gentle soul - Herbert Harold - Uncle Herbie. An elder from The Kurtijar People. An accomplished stockman, who spent his life from 15 yoa, working stock on cattle stations around Normanton. Such an honour to take his photo.

So it's finally here.... Mosaic 'Sea' Thru.
I wished you could see the detail in this metal print photo....an iPhone photo doesn't do it justice. You can see bubbles and even the white grains of sand. Can't wait to hang this in our next 'Photobox' display.
