It can sometimes be a stressful time for little ones when a new baby has arrived.
Their whole world has been turned upside down and every child reacts differently. Some are completely obsessed with their new baby and others would rather have absolutely nothing to do with them! 😂

I always hope I can make the time in the studio fun and enjoyable while also capturing some great shots of them together.

Keeping the kids busy and making things fun rather than stressful is always my goal during sessions.
We won’t (and can’t!) force them into doing anything they don’t want to do. (IYKYK stubborn toddlers 🤣)
Instead I try to make a game out of everything.

I’ll usually try to capture the sibling photos first,l while they’re happy to be involved and excited to be here.
Then they can relax and do whatever they like, have a snack, play with some toys, or just hang out with Mum and Dad.

I will get them to do things like:

“Can you count how many fingers and toes your baby has?”

“Do they have anything in their ear? What about up their nose?”

“Can you hear what they’re thinking? Put your head really close and listen!”

“Hop up on Dad’s shoulders and see if you can reach the roof!”
“Squeeze Mum and Dads heads really tight and see if you can make them pop off!”
“I want you to hide this toy somewhere on the couch with Mum and Dad, and I’ll see if I can find it!”

That one is usually a goodie for getting laughs in a family photo.

I know kids don’t sit still and some won’t smile on command. It’s about letting them be kids, having a bit of fun and capturing whatever little moments of connection we can get along the way 🥰

I’ve got some exciting things coming up 😍 which I can’t wait to share with you.
I can’t believe how quickly this year is going 🫠🤯 I only have 1 or 2 weekend spaces available for the remainder of the year, and studio bookings are becoming limited too.
