World Photography Day 2026 – HOME
This year’s World Photography Day theme is HOME, and for me this image captures exactly what that can mean.
I took this photograph just outside my home after a storm had passed through. The rain had left the street covered in reflections, and then the sky suddenly exploded with colour.
It was one of those reminders that you don’t always have to travel somewhere extraordinary to create a photograph. Sometimes you just need to step outside your front door and pay attention.
The place I call home offers so much beauty, diversity and opportunity to photograph — from changing weather and dramatic skies to the everyday moments that are easy to overlook.
Photography has taught me to stay curious, to notice what’s around me, and to appreciate that something special can appear when you least expect it.
