Autumn is by far my favourite time of the year for a family photo session (with winter and then spring coming in a close second and third, sorry summer you’re too hot). The weather is starting to cool down nicely in the mornings and evenings, the sun is setting earlier and the trees are starting to turn glorious shades of yellow and orange.

You really cannot beat an Autumn family photo session.

One golden afternoon in December surrounding a quaint little cottage atop a mountain, we got to pause time for a moment while A + S awaited the newest little love of their lives. I just love the quiet anticipation of a maternity session and the opportunity to reflect on where it all started ~ the two of you. The love really radiated out in this one, I could just feel it.

Sometimes I am reminded why it is I do what I do.
They’re not just beautiful photos, but memories that become more meaningful as times goes on.
They are joy;
they are comfort;
they are healing;
they are for remembering.
Each photo is just a small pause; a glimpse of a tiny moment; but those moments could end up meaning more to you than you thought possible.

These photos are taken at the beautiful in Wollombi, the location for my Mother’s Day Cottage sessions happening on Sunday 29th March 2026.

They will be released tomorrow 5th February, and if you so feel called, I would love to see you there.

It’s starting to slip out of my mind.
The way I felt when I was pregnant.
The growing belly, the first little flutters of movement, the way I would dream about what they are going to look like and who they are going to be.
The stretching, the heavy feeling, the clothes becoming harder and harder to wear.
It’s like everything I suppose, it all starts to fade a bit, blur into the past.
It felt like forever at the time, but now it’s a distant memory.
I truly wish I had photos like this with each of my pregnancies.
Intimate, real.
Instead I shied away from the camera, reluctant to show my growing belly to the world. My boys first home.
Whatever you do, don’t miss the opportunity to capture your pregnancy.

Imagine you are 80 years old, and you’re flicking through old photo albums. You see these photos and your mind wanders back. Back to when your days were full of love, full of joy, full of chaos and the wonder of childhood. Back to time when your children both fit snuggly in your lap and you could spin them around in circles.
That night you dream about this night and the memories it triggers. And you long to hold your children like this again, even if just for a moment.

The photos you take with your children are for the now, but also for the future. For memory keeping; a tiny little window to the past, kept safe in your photos albums for generations.

Let’s capture your motherhood now, so it can last forever.
