Image of the Year: Sparkling (January winner) by Sonny Rutherford
Image of the Year Comments by Judge Tryg Helander:
“It was easy to see why these eleven images were selected as monthly winners. Each has incredible merit for either; wow-factor, excellence in storytelling, edgy drama or superior advanced camera techniques.”
“Making this exceptionally difficult decision does not exclude the others from being rightfully in this list. The B-Graders should be especially proud and respected for their work, most are A-Grade images in my judging experience.”
“I do appreciate a wow-factor image; and this resulted in one sitting just a margin higher. So, my pick for the Image of the Year is; Sparkling_033.”
“This image combines a wonderful use of silhouette and elongated shutter to capture the spinning steel wool sparks that lead our eyes to the model positioned within them. The image was also thoughtful given a slender border, so that its margin could be differentiated on a dark background of a screen. A wow image that is deserving of this year’s highest award”

15th October... Next club outing has 2 option.
5am at picnic point for a sunrise followed by 8am meeting at Queens park (with stroll through park and possibly down Margaret st) for a photo scavenger hunt. I hope to see as many members there as possible and as always happy to car pool.
