Sometimes creative shoots are simply about bringing an idea to life.

For this one, I wanted to create something that felt undeniably western, drawing inspiration from country culture, open spaces, timeless style, and that sense of freedom that comes with it. But I also wanted to give it a modern twist.

The goal was to find a balance between a nostalgic film-inspired aesthetic and vibrant pops of colour. Something that felt authentic and country at its core, while still feeling fresh, creative, and a little unexpected.

Creative shoots like this give me the freedom to experiment, refine my vision, and celebrate the things that inspire me. And for this one, that inspiration was everything country.

Hayley & Jayden’s day felt like a country love story brought to life. Perfect weather, sunshine across the paddocks, cowboy boots, a stunning dress with the most intricate floral details, and a celebration surrounded by so much love, laughter, bubbles, and energy.

It was such a privilege to witness two people promise forever to each other in such a beautiful atmosphere. Days like this are a reminder of how special it is to capture not just a wedding, but the feeling of being there.

One thing creatives hear their entire career is that they need to find their style and stick to that style.

But creativity doesn’t always work like that. Sometimes you fall in love with completely different moods, tones and finishes depending on what you’re creating.

For me, creative shoots are where I get to explore those ideas. They’re the itch that needs scratching. The kind of shoot you can already picture in your mind before it even exists. The kind of shoot your soul knows it needs and you won’t be able to stop thinking about it until you create it.

This one felt moody and western inspired from the beginning. I knew I wanted a beautiful country girl, a stunning horse, grassy paddocks and that soft afternoon light. I knew I wanted to underexpose the images to create the finish I had in my head. I knew I wanted warm tones but more earthy.

Not every shoot has to look the same to still be authentic. Sometimes authenticity is allowing yourself to explore, experiment and create without boxing yourself into one style forever.

The important thing is making sure your clients know what you’re delivering and what to expect from you. Beyond that, creativity should still feel exciting. Keep on creating x

Sometimes product photography doesn’t need elaborate sets or expensive props to feel impactful.

Sometimes all it takes is good light, thoughtful styling, and a few simple elements that complement the product rather than compete with it.

This lemon scented candle paired with warm timber tones and minimal details created imagery that feels calm, warm, and inviting, proving that simplicity often tells the strongest story. You can almost smell the scent and feel the warmth.

The little details matter. The textures, the tones, the mood. That’s where the magic is.

When people ask me what my favourite thing to photograph is, or what my favourite type of photography is, the answer is never as simple as weddings, people, or places.

For me, it’s connection.
It’s finding creative spaces that make you feel something.
It’s noticing the way colours, light, textures and shapes all come together to tell a story.
It’s watching the quiet connection between two people unfold naturally in front of my lens.

And then comes my favourite part? That’s bringing that vision to life in the edit.
Shaping the mood, the tones, the feeling. Turning a moment into something cinematic, nostalgic and honest.

That’s the part of photography I’ll never stop loving.

A snippet of my life before I took a break to study, before the creation Wylde Oak. When I look back at these I get to remember how incredible this journey has been for me.
