As today is international day of the bee I thought I would share some fun facts about these amazing insects.

(1). Bees have been here about 30 million years!
(2). An average beehive can hold around 50,000 bees.
(3). Female bees in the hive (except the queen) are called worker
bees.
(4). The average forager makes about 1/12th of a teaspoon of
honey in her lifetime.
(5). Australia has over 1,600 hundred species of native bees.
(6). 11 species of Australian Native Bees are stingless.
