Hi, I’m Scott Gould, I’ve been taking photographs of trains and railways since I was 14, I’d like to share with you some of my favourite images and website showcasing my fine art railway photos and hope you can imagine them hanging on your own walls.

I must admit, I’d never really thought about the railway system in Java.

For some reason, I had it in my head it was a collection of sugar cane lines, and maybe some 3’6” lines crossing the island, sort of like a compact Queensland Railways when it was still Quaint and Rattly.

I couldn’t have been further off the mark if I tried!

It turned out, there’s a really great passenger and freight network, with a mix of modern and older mechanical signalling spanning the island.

My favourite preserved branchline in Victoria, the Victorian Goldfields Railway.

Recently returned to service K 160 leads J 549 into Muckleford at the start of the school holidays a couple of weeks ago.

We had a great day out getting some shots, catching up with old friends, and enjoying some Central Victorian sunshine!

The 2027 A Railway Life Calendar is available to order, and will be mailing out from the end of this month.

It has a similar theme to last year, with a mix of steam, diesel, and electric trains, mainly from Australia.

Supporting a local business, it will be printed in Melbourne, on high quality A4 paper. It will be spiral bound, and hangs on the wall as A3, giving nice clear pictures, and room to write notes.

I’m happy to hand deliver locally, ( Newport/ Altona/ Williamstown and MTM ).
If that might work, drop me an email before you buy, and I’ll send you a free shipping code.

Coming back from Bairnsdale behind A2 986 and A 66, we were put away in Hearns Oak loop to allow a couple of trains to pass us.

An up Vlocity service overtook us, caught flashing past our train, and into the night.

I’m finalising the image selection, as always, it’s hard to pick my favourite dozen ( or so) from this year.
