Bel's Rural Photography

Bel's Rural Photography From SW NSW I'm sharing my photos as my connection back to the land I love. Enjoy! Pictures are for sale upon request, please inbox me.

The simple definition of photography is "Writing with light". As I am not much of a writer this is my alternative to stories and poetry on describing the beauty of bush. I have always been creative in some way so I was naturally drawn to the art of Photography. I have been teaching myself for the past 2 years. Growing up in the Riverina in NSW I have loved the beauty of the rural surroundings and

love capturing the unique moments that happen around me, whenever I have the opportunity too. It seems fitting to combine both my passions so please enjoy my pictures and feel free to share.

Life has been hectic with farm life, personal life and that extreme weather that has been happening everywhere across SE Australia. This was taken on my iPhone whilst rushing to achieve a farm job before it poured down again. It is the top end of our swamp on the farm. Normally there is no water here but with all the recent rains the entire swamp is full, actually over full and has been restricting access to some paddocks. In all the chaos there is so much beauty in nature.

WRA is not encouraging people to travel to events with present floods and extremely poor road conditions; we have experienced some dangerous situations travelling across the region and our staff are not travelling as of today until conditions get better. However, for those already in Jerilderie, please enjoy this exhibition featuring local artists!

KELPIE SELLS FOR $25,750 AT JERILDERIE 🐾

The Jerilderie Working Dog auction saw 55 dogs sold for combined value of $578,000 and average of $10,509 - a new Australian record - on Saturday.

The top-priced dog (pictured) was sold by Brad Pellow with Lot 36, a three-year-old trained Kelpie, Harry, selling for $25,750 to a buyer from Wilcannia.

Other top sales included nine-month-old Kelpie, Lot 46, DroversDream Trixie, trained and sold by Adrian Allbut, selling for $22,000 via Auctions Plus. The price is believed to be an Australian record for a Kelpie under 12 months.

Auction organiser Warwick Doolan said the demand for working dogs continues to grow, partly due to labour shortages.

"It has become more of a requirement, rather than a luxury item, having a good dog...for a lot of farmers a dog is essential," he said.

He said the Jerilderie Working Dog Auction started in 2006 and this year's average price was close to matching the gross sales of their first auction.

Hello there, I know I have been quiet for 2022 and not posted a single image on here. Yes I am still attached to the camera at all time. Here is a quick video posted by Jerilderie Working Dog Auction on the images I took on the weekend.

I had an image request for the elusive hare. This image was by far one of the more challenging experiences I’ve have had. It involved army crawling through itchy grass, stalking the highly strung alert little creature. They really don’t like being followed.

How is that for an evening sky. Not a bad view as we finished off a job in the sheep yards yesterday
