🟢 Cooranga North Campdraft's Saturday Draft competition started with a rather fresh morning. The Weather forecast for the day was a predicted "Polar Blast" 😱🥶!! Well..... it sure did blast its way throughout the day. We had sunshine, storm clouds, wind, rain and even a little sleet. But, the Competitors and their horses were total athletes even though they shivered their way throughout the day and they just took it all in their stride and produced some fantastic drafting.

(Lucky that the The Tipsy Texan Coffee Van was on the grounds and Kelli was flatstick busy making everyone's coffee's ☕and yes the coffee was great!)

Friday afternoon at Cooranga North Campdraft saw the first and second runs of the Ray White Livestock Dalby Open Draft and the first few competitors of the 4XB Cattle Co Maiden B Draft. Cattle for these drafts were kindly donated by Russell Pastoral Operations of Jimbour Station - Jimbour. (Seriously, the Committee would not be able to hold such great drafts without these generous cattle donors!)

The weather delighted us with a beautiful cracking afternoon of sunshine! The competitors and their horses along with the cattle entertained the crowd with fabulous drafting and great scores to boot. These drafts were amazing to watch and photograph, so enjoy!

Cooranga North Campdraft

The first day of the 3 day Cooranga North Campdraft arrived with a bang! This year the Committee took on the challenge of providing a 3 Day Draft instead of the normal 2 day draft that they have run for a number of years. The grounds looked amazing and the newly fenced arena brought the action closer to the spectators.

Friday morning started with the Burton Family Beef Maiden A Draft, along with cattle supplied by Russell Pastoral Operations (Jimbour Station). The cool weather did not affect the competitors at all and they entertained the spectators with a great show of horsemanship and cattle work.

Sunday afternoon rolled into the Cooranga North Campdraft and the weather that came with it, well....lets just say Winter certainly let us know that she was nowhere near finished with us! 🥶🥶

But, as the saying goes "the show must go on" and did it what!!!

The final runs for the Morrissey & CO Novice A & Josh Turner Novice B Drafts was what drafting was all about! These competitors took drafting to the next level and entertained the Crowd by showing them how it is done. The cattle were exceptional Santa Heifers kindly donated by the Greenup Family of Rosevale Santa Gertrudis - Jandowae.

For the last 3 years, I have travelled to Victoria to be a part of a photography retreat.

This year, some of my images that I have taken over this time, have been printed and hung in a small exhibition.

Seeing my images printed and hung in a small setting is really humbling and also exciting!

PPfffttt who said Horse Racing is all about the Horses??

Well they are wrong, at the annual Jandowae Race Club 2025 Race Day the Fashions on the Field is a hotly contested afternoon of Fashion and Millinery for these Ladies and Gents (yes - the Gents are very dapper and do take their fashion very seriously!)

At this years races, there was a fierce race run to be sashed "Fashions from afar Qualifier". The Judges had a field that was colourfully stunning and decked out in the best Autumn fashion and millinery. These Ladies and Gents, plan their outfits down to the smallest detail. Seriously, these outfits were not thrown together at the last minute, but months of planning has gone into each and every outfit.

Drumroll please 🥁🥁🥁
