WHAT A WAY TO CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE HORSE!

The Western Downs Western Dressage Inc held their annual Championships over the weekend of the 5th-7th June 2026.

Saturday opened with two working arenas. Arena 2 (outside) was soaking up the beautiful warm winters blue sky day. Both Competitors and horses were soaking up the stunning weather and the competition was on another level. The Judges certainly had their work cut out scoring. The respect and pride that these competitors have for their horses is truly an act of love! The grooming of each horse is curated with an act of kindness and the tack used is cleaned and polished with such a shine that it pales in comparison to their beautiful friend and confidant.

Thank you to the Committee and Volunteers for creating an amazing competition for both Competitors and Horses to compete in. Congratulations!

The Western Downs Western Dressage Inc held their annual Championship weekend at the Dalby showgrounds on the weekend of the 5th-7th June 2026.

Saturday was a beautiful winters day! Bright blue sky and the warmth of the sun as you watched the days events unfold around the arenas. Both Competitors and horses were soaking up the atmosphere along with the spectators.

Strength is not always about being loud, upfront or even bold.
Sometimes it quiet.
Quiet, like a young Jockey sitting in the corner of a busy dressing room, studying her next race, while carrying the weight of expectation, ambition and success on her shoulders.

I walked into the building that houses the Jockey's Dressing Room at the Jandowae Race Club. This gorgeous young Jockey immediately caught my eye. She was sitting by the window, tucked away in a quiet corner, far away from the bustle and hustle of the rest of the room. The light was amazing coming through the window and her pose, picture perfect in so many ways and she had no idea I was there. I actually could not make up my mind as to colour or black and white. Both deeply resonate to me on so many different levels.

This year at the Jandowae Race Club 2026 Race Day, the committee decided to incorporate a new section in the Fashions on the Field.

🌟- BEST ON TRACK - 🌟

This section is open to anyone, Male or Female, that is not entering into any of the Fashion Categories. The criteria for this section is Someone who is dressed appropriately and showing the spirit of Fashion and Racing. The Fashion Judges had the pleasure of roving the field and selecting the winner.

The Winner was presented with a gift box kindly donated by Tanner Farming & Earthmoving of Jandowae.
