Since this image or a variation of it has been doing the rounds recently, thought I'd add my two cents worth. I took this photo for the Manly Warringah Cycling Club.

While the athlete in question has valid points regarding fundamental issues with women’s sport, unfortunately, the points are a problem with women sport in general and not unique to cycling.

I also feel ABC News misrepresented the situation somewhat. Clubs like MWCC have always been extremely supportive and proactive with the support of women’s racing. I’ve attended and photographed more racing in Sydney than I care to admit too. I can honestly say the encouragement given by all Sydney clubs for women (and kids) is quite good. Could things be improved, hell yes and to be honest I’d love to see even more encouragement of other subjects like para sport (yes I am a little biased on this subject)

Clearly a clickbait article with little consideration to the clubs and hundreds of volunteers giving thousands of hours and $$$ to run a local sport. Fundamental issues of representation start at the top of levels of sports administration. Its the ground level of the sport that is actually out there trying to change things. ABC you missed the mark horribly by having a cheap dig at the people making a difference and you did so without speaking to the people you criticised, shame on you!

Weekend plans to ride 100km and have choices too many really but short list is
A) m7 cycleway and a few extra bits
B) Hornsby to Peats Ridge and return
C) West Head x 4 laps
D) Hornsby to Morisset for lunch and train ride home.

Really prefer some gravel but that is on the books for following weekend.

Just came back from a three day weekend near Dubbo. While the weather did not place nice and limited some options it was still rad. This region is an excellent destination for some gravel adventure. Already planning next trip, need to make up for some lost km’s and hours in the saddle. Go and like Central West Cycling Trail and/or visit their website

People may scoff at the emergence of e-bikes, electric scooters and other electric transport devices like electric skateboards (less said there the better). However, hold your scorn and remember this; if it wasn't for these common consumer-grade devices, then the cost of development and economies of scale for production for these kinds of wheelchairs would most likely not have happened. This is where technology solves real-world problems and gives people some freedom and independence.

Halfway on this K**b Loop ride is jerusalem falls. Thanks to a great list of rides spending less time behind the lens and more in the saddle. Thanks to and the checkpoint is a sweet ride perfect for tarmac and gravel. and now I am back in Dungog smashing sone lamb shanks at the pub, yes the beer didn’t last long. @ Jerusalem Creek Forest Park
