Autumn mornings in Hobart ✨

Some days you wake up, look outside, and feel incredibly grateful for where you live.

Crisp autumn air, the calm blue of the Derwent, and the moon quietly watching over kunanyi / Mount Wellington.

Moments like this remind me how much beauty exists in the simple beginnings of a new day.

😍 Hobart, you are something special.

Come with me into Tasmania’s world of imagination.
Cool air, towering green, falling water.
Russell Falls, the kind of place that stays with you.

Back in the field at Russell Falls.
A long-exposure moment where time slows, water softens, and everything feels a little more breathable.

The lush greens, the steady flow, the quiet rhythm of the forest this is why I keep coming back.

It took me over a year to return, but some places wait patiently for you to be ready again. 🌿

I'm still hungover from the strong Aurora Australis we had a couple of nights ago. It was literally everywhere I looked in the sky. On top, on the right, on the left, right across...it was spectacular❣️ Here is another photo from the 20th of January. Looking at these photos, I always think what an out worldly world we live in yet we are too busy on our power games instead of treasuring the beauty we have right in front of us.

Last night I thought I’d be warm… because the plan was simple: watch the aurora from the balcony, home comforts included.
Well, I still froze. Because even in summer, our nights like to remind you who’s boss. But hey, a couple of socks and a vest were always within arm’s reach.

The best part? I never had to leave. My balcony turned into the perfect front-row seat as the aurora danced across the sky. Truly extraordinary.

Photos never quite capture the magic, but I tried. Moments like this remind me how lucky I am to live on this island. And yes, when we chose this house, I may have quietly checked: “Can I see the aurora from here?”
Priorities. 🌌

Aurora Australia, you were magic last night.

The sky was alive tonight. Aurora Australis flowing over and around Mount Wellington... moving, shifting, and visible with the naked eye.
Captured on my Canon 5D Mark IV, but truly experienced in stillness and awe literally at my balcony!

She appeared without warning 🌈
a soft whisper of colour draped across Kunanyi,
as the sky caught fire in morning light.
From my living room in Hobart,
I watched magic unfold…
and vanish,
in less than two minutes.
But oh, what a moment to witness.

Don't mind the roof of my house but I'm lucky to have this view to gaze upon on some nights, and I'm grateful for that. Aurora Australia will be active tonight and potentially tomorrow night too with the dependency on the quality of solar winds. But I'm out, good night!
