Apologies for the long absence. This photo was taken in Barham NSW. At a local pub with some friendly people. This picture won me a $100 voucher. Popeye had the well worn face of a hard worker now enjoying a smoke and pot of beer.

Travelling on back roads to see small communities and history

Recently took some pics of the over one hundred year old basalt culvert in Koroit. This culvert is at the beginning of Nine Mile Creek Road at the Koroit end. Sad that we don't have the craftsperson of the past who could repair this culvert. As can be seen the capstones have fallen off and will eventually disappear. Once again as things fall into disrepair they are removed as safety measure. Poor excuse.

The Brierly Mental Hospital has almost be completely obliterated with the only remnants being the pine trees at the entrance. There is no buildings left and no information as to the history of the asylum. It is remiss to not acknowledge that the site was a mental hospital since 1957 to 1996. History should not be expunged as it can repeat if we don't learn from mistakes. Surely the community should know what this site was through information boards and website information.
