I specialise in premium studio male portraiture, However this is not my limit. I aim to make every image suitable for a magazine cover and do not settle for any less of quality. Showcasing the power of editing, this shot I had in mind to add a pop of colour.⁣

Despite it looking like I shot this with Gels - I didn’t - I knew the texture of the smoke would catch some light and allow me to add colour in post.⁣
⁣
⁣
All basic adjustments were done in Lightroom - heading into photoshop is where the magic happend with retouching and then of course styling this entire image - Understandably this may have been easier shooting with gels in camera, but I like to show that sometimes you can transform an otherwise average image, into something a little more interesting through editing.⁣
⁣
Isolating the subject and adding gradient hues of blue and purple to the background and adding different tones to the subject to replicate the light from gels.⁣

Ray helped me out on a private project and I decided to get him in the studio for some sleek dark looks.⁣

Process:⁣
⁣
When designing this shoot I had a pretty clear idea of what I was going to do with the help of Ray sending me his inspirations I developed this shoot with what he was looking for in mind. ⁣
⁣
I did something similar with Kade a while back and decided to push the look a little further with some separation of the backdrop, one key light on the right and one light directly behind him to create that much-needed gradient separation for a dark image. ⁣
⁣
In post -production I used Lightroom to adjust a few luminance values and kicked it into photoshop to retouch the skin from blemishes and leaving a few natural textures, dodge and burn to give the face a little bit more dynamic dimention and a few curve adjustments to finalise the style of the image. ⁣

Now it's not all about the followers, for me it's about the art and the experience I give my clients, so I am always striving to create new things, I was keeping a 3 image set from Tyler's shoot for a series I had in mind, 'Fire and Ice'.

I edited up a few of Fire and separately of Ice, (Red & Blue) letting instagram decide what was better, the average of all combined was 50/50 😂🤦🏼‍♂️ however before that I had brainstormed an idea to combine both fire and ice in one image and applied that Idea over the whole series.

Just last week this series got published in Vanity Wall Magazine! Not only that but we got a Title feature on the cover and Editors Pick - A massive achievement.

In more recent news, I scouted an upcoming martial artist by the name of Tyler Daniel, making a model out of him. I think he had about 1k on instagram.

In more recent news, I scouted an upcoming martial artist by the name of Tyler Daniel, making a model out of him. I think he had about 1k on Instagram. getting creative herself with shots to keep up the hype.

He is now on 16k+ followers! Sometimes All it takes is a little help and a little push.

After our shoot in the first couple of weeks, he manages to accrue 6k with his mum jumping on board with putting in maximum effort and posting diligently getting creative herself with shots to keep up the hype.

Retouching can be essential in some cases. ⁣

Everyone needs a little retouching to look their best in this case our subject; an actor as a performing artist we need to have a great headshot to land roles, for the temporary things like blemishes, slight dry skin and a bit of discolouration we don’t want these to stand out in a headshot, a casting director will see and notice that, we want them to notice features of our subject...⁣
⁣
and this is what I do when I perform my Detailed Natural Retouching Technique, this is my very own designed technique to highlight features however keeping it as natural as possible and not making the subject look plastic, this is important because they are looking for best representation of you! ⁣

You cannot just put a bunch of make-up and cover up if you have gorgeous soft freckles like our Subject Kohen here, this is why I like to retouch in with my technique. You get the best of both worlds and everyone is happy. ⁣
