It has been a while since my last post. Life has a way of slipping by, doesn’t it? Sometimes it feels like all the balls are in the air, and we’re darting in every direction to keep them from falling. Lately, my life has been filled with the busy rhythms of raising growing children, managing the...

It can be really hard setting boundaries, especially with those we love. But setting boundaries is really important for our mental and emotional wellbeing. I wrote a post about it, along with a few steps that have helped me along the way.

Setting healthy boundaries can be extremely challenging. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and say no to something that feels wrong or asks too much of our time and energy. Especially as an empath who feels deeply for the troubles of others, putting their hand up often to help out. Having no b

Appreciating aesthetics can help our physical and mental health. When we notice beauty around us and bring it into our daily life, it can lift our spirits and inspire us. I wrote a little about it today, along with a few ways we can enhance beauty in our daily life.

When we allow time our day to pause, notice, and appreciate the beauty in our surrounding, it can help us feel happy. Being mindful and appreciating beauty is essential to our wellbeing.

It’s the end of October already, can you believe it? This time of year goes by quickly. With all the celebrations, pre-Christmas prep and finishing work projects, it’s hard to pause within it all.
We do have choices on how much we take on though - how many celebrations we attend and how many gifts to buy. We can choose to keep things simple and focus on quality rather than quantity.
Quite often we overcomplicate things or feel obligated to do things to avoid offending others. But we can say no. And we do have some control over how difficult we make it all ✨

“After rain after many days without rain,
it stays cool, private and cleansed, under the trees,
and the dampness there, married now to gravity,
falls branch to branch, leaf to leaf, down to the ground.”

I wrote a post on the journal today about perfectionism.

I have struggled with perfectionism my whole life. It stops me from stepping into discomfort and sharing more of myself. Making decisions is a challenge and I bounce back and forth a lot of the time.

Do you relate?

In the post I share a few of the things I’ve learned about perfectionism and how to move forward in life without it keeping you stuck and constantly feeling unfulfilled.

Anybody who battles with perfectionism knows how exhausting it can be. You constantly question yourself. Each decision is a challenge. You worry what others will think of you and you stop yourself from doing a lot that might help you move forward in life. I know how debilitating it can be because

We have started the process of looking for a house to buy. We have been looking on and off for the past two years. But we are taking it seriously now as we approach the end of our lease.
I’m ready to do the work of making a home our home. Painting, knocking down walls, creating a garden with spaces to gather... I know it will be hard work, and I’ll have to be patient and do things one step at a time. But I’m really looking forward to getting started.

One of my favourite salads to make, and one that features in my eCookbook. It only uses a handful of ingredients including chickpeas and sweet potato, and feels nourishing and filling.

The mornings are absolutely beautiful at the moment. My run is no longer in the dark and I’m really enjoying getting up early. At 4:10am the birds are already calling.
I love the early hours, and always have. I love having a few quiet minutes before the others wake so I can be with my thoughts. I know others who feel this way about the night.
Are you a morning or a night person?

It’s the weekend! Do you have anything nice planned? I’ve had quite a busy week myself with a few too many late nights staying up editing. An afternoon nap is on the cards later today. We also have family coming over tomorrow to share a meal together and enjoy a slice of cake.
I’d love to learn more about you. Where you are from and what you love to do on weekends? Head to my Stories to help me discover who you are. Have a lovely weekend! xx
