At Tianie Caruso Photography our photography can be broken down into two styles, Artistic Editorial and Natural Photojournalistic. Whilst most of our weddings do employ elements of both styles, we find our clients will still have a preference for us to shoot more of one style than the other. To help you understand these styles we have included a description along with photographic examples below.
Artistic Editorial
This is my own unique signature style, which is mix of both Artistic Photography and Editorial Photography. This style is all about creating visually striking and impactful images that stand out like a piece of art or a scene from a movie, whilst also taking references from fashion to create dynamic, intimate and creative poses. The artistic element of this style is focused on unique and creative wedding photographs, that are planned out and can be assisted by special effects such as smoke, special lighting, intimate or dramatic poses and often includes night photography. It is always great fun creating these sorts of photos as we come up with concepts for our couples in the lead up to their wedding, but also take advantage of unique opportunities that present themselves on the day. The editorial element of this style is about creating beautiful images with a high end appeal and it is a more directed approach that takes inspiration from the fashion industry. However you don’t need to be model or experienced in front of the camera for us to achieve this style as we are excellent at directing you and helping you feel relaxed so you look natural. Overall is very clean style that is reminiscent of the type of images you will find in wedding magazine that also still includes all the real moments as they unfold and happen on the day. Natural Journalistic
This style is all about the natural retelling of your day, capturing and creating moments that feel relaxed and authentic. With a heavy focus on emotions and reactions, this style is more about creating interactions between people and is the approach we take for couples who don’t want to be posed. The natural element of this style is through the use of available natural light as much as possible. It’s a very airy light feeling style which can include beautiful sun flairs, dreamy golden hour photography and soft lighting on overcast days. The journalistic element of this style focuses on capturing candid moments, reactions and emotions as much as possible. We try to get you interacting and laughing as much as possible throughout the day so we can capture your true expressions and real smiles. Overall there is nothing we love more than capturing the emotions, laughter and fun that take place during the day, hence why we always apply a photojournalist approach at all our weddings when capturing the ceremony and reception part of your day. We even have a long zoom lens we nick named the “Sneaky Lens” because it allows us to observed people from a distance without them feeling intruded on or knowing we are capturing their candid interactions.
