You can make the most of any light. At the end of the day, that’s what photography is all about, capturing light, right? 😊

In this image, the glow of Canberra’s city lights creates a beautiful separation between the horizon and the night sky, helping to shape the silhouette of the lone figure beneath the stars.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn the tricks of astro-landscape photography, join us tomorrow. The weather forecast is looking very promising, and it should be a fantastic night under the stars. ✨

The Milky Way is predictable. The Aurora isn’t.

Most nights, I know exactly where the Milky Way will be and how it will align with the landscape. That’s the beauty of planning and understanding the night sky.

But every now and then, nature throws in a surprise. A burst of Aurora on the horizon adds that little extra touch, turning a familiar scene into something truly special.

Captured on private property near Gundaroo where we hold our under some of the darkest skies in the region.

📷✨ Sometimes the best part of night photography is the part you can’t predict.

Only 20 minutes from Canberra, and this is what awaits us.

As the moonlight disappears this weekend, we enter the heart of the June Milky Way season. The Galactic Core will be perfectly positioned, creating the same spectacular view you see in this image.

After the recent rain, the forecast is calling for clear skies and beautifully clean air, some of the best conditions we can hope for.

I've seen this view countless times over the years, but watching someone capture it for the first time never gets old. I can't wait to share that experience again this and next weekend. ✨

Canberra never stops amazing me at night. ✨

Swipe through these images and let me know your favourite three, I'd love to hear which ones stand out to you and why.
And if you've ever wanted to experience capturing the Milky Way for yourself, now's your chance. 🌌
You don't even need a camera, you can photograph the night sky with your smartphone, or hire a complete astrophotography camera kit for the workshop.
I'll be running a Milky Way Photography Workshop next Saturday, and I have just a couple of spots remaining. The weather forecast is looking promising too!

An old but gold compilation of some favourite moments.
I tried to lower the original high pitch sound because Instagram forces playing while you scroll 😟.
I hope you like it☺️.

Capturing this shot wasn’t easy, a narrow bridge with no footpath meant the safest time was 2 AM on a Sunday. With a 3-minute exposure, I had to stay hyper-aware of my surroundings.

Some shots are worth the challenge, but safety always comes first, don’t try this at home! 🌌🙏♥
