Something for Australian Photographers... I'm helping coordinate the Clique Awards for the Canon Collective Facebook Group and entries close on Monday night 6 December at 11:59pm (AEST).

There's a shared prize pool of 6000 Collective Dollars that winners will be able to redeem for Canon gear through the Awards' retail CameraPro.

A unique feature of these awards is that every entry gets a Report Card feeding back how that image scored against Six Judging Criteria, so entrants can see the areas of your work you need to improve.

There are 6 Categories, streams for processed-only and edited images, and also two experience classes (Novice and Experienced) to ensure everyone can be included in the Awards.

So head over to the Canon Collective group and sign up, and check out the awards website!

Today Canon Australia and Canon New Zealand have announced the launch of their Canon Champions advocacy program, and I'm proud to be once again included as along with an expanded group of super-talented A&NZ photographers.

This year marks my 35th anniversary of shooting on Canon, so the brand has been with me on a lifetime of adventures, both above and below the surface of the ocean.

I'm excited to continue the association, and can't wait to see what photo-adventures await!

Vote for your Eco Hero NOW!

Vote now for your Eco Hero! Superb submissions encompassing the tireless work of six Semi-finalists in the Eco Hero category of the Underwater Tour Awards are now live for public voting.

Who are the Semi-finalists?
Jacqueline Younger, Dromana, VIC
Dylan Boag, Sanctuary Point, NSW
Louise Hardman, Red Rock, NSW
Tony Isaacson, Parrearra, QLD
Sarah-Jo Lobwein, Kurnell, NSW
Diane Oxenford, Woorim, QLD

Bringing together a submission for the Eco Hero Award takes considerable time and effort - addressing specific criteria, providing examples, endorsements, results - all to demonstrate an individual’s track record in their chosen environmental endeavours. The information the Semi-finalists provide proves gravitas and provenance, underpinning their entry. It’s not possible to wing it. Thank you to the Semi-finalists for entering, not to mention all the selfless work you do.

Thank you to the nominees who put forward entrant recommendations, and in doing so donated their nomination fee to Rainforest Rescue whose sustained work in the Daintree has positive impact on our Great Barrier Reef. Every dollar helps.

What do our Semi-finalists do?… Well, please see their eco resumes – you are sure to be inspired. You can vote just once and every vote counts! Head to: https://underwatertourawards.com.au/eco-hero-peoples-choice

Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea, another World.

Next month with Coral Expeditions , Jasmine Carey and I will be heading from — to the Daintree Coast, Far Northern Great Barrier Reef … and if the weather gods allow….Osprey Reef.

It’s one of those most magical of places, a remote marine wilderness, sitting atop a seamount that rises 2000 metres from the deep.

If you’re the spontaneous type and you can be in Cairns, Queensland on the 17th of November, you can join us.
