Five Graces Photography

Five Graces Photography Specialists in kindergarten, childcare & family portraits What should you expect your gallery to be like?

Our philosophy is to celebrate all children's unique strengths, interests & abilities wherever they are at developmentally. Our galleries are designed to showcase to you the types of activities your child participates in at care. These images are a reflection of their time exploring their learning spaces. Our images are a mixture of smiling portraits and images showing your child interacting in pl

ay based activities. All children participate in their photoshoot in their own unique way. We cannot guarantee that every image will be of your child smiling at the camera. For example, it is very unnatural for your child to draw us a picture and for us to then interupt them to ask them to pose for us.

Our photographers are highly experienced and photograph thousands of children every year and all care is taken to to generate a gallery with as many smiles as possible.

A quick update for families who have been patiently waiting on photo albums…

Our albums have finally arrived! 🎉

Like many Australian businesses, we’ve been impacted by shortages of imported plastic components used in the manufacture of our albums, resulting in production delays that have been completely outside of our control.

We know many families have been eagerly awaiting their orders, and we’re so pleased to say that the wait is almost over. Our team is now working through the remaining orders and getting them ready for dispatch as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support while we navigated these supply challenges. We can’t wait for these precious memories to finally make their way home. ❤️

📸 Why do registrations close at lunchtime on the Friday before Photo Week? 📸

Every Friday, we finalise the following week’s schedule. This includes:

✅ Rostering our photographers
✅ Determining how many photographers are needed at each service
✅ Working out which days we need to attend each centre
✅ Ensuring we have enough capacity to photograph every registered child

Unlike many people assume, we don’t automatically attend every centre every day of the week. Our attendance schedule is based entirely on the registrations received by the closing date.

If you register after the deadline, there are a few challenges:

• Our photography schedule may already be at capacity.
• We may not be attending the centre on the day your child attends.
• We may have already allocated the maximum number of children we can photograph during that Photo Week.

While we’ll always do our best to accommodate late registrations where possible, we cannot guarantee that your child will be photographed if registration is received after the close date.

To avoid disappointment, please ensure your registration is submitted by lunchtime on the Friday prior to Photo Week.

Thank you for helping us plan ahead and ensuring we can provide the best possible experience for every child we photograph. ❤️

Today is a pretty special day for our industry.

After months of work by a dedicated group of photographers from across Australia, ELPA – Early Learning Photographers Australia has officially launched.

The early learning photography landscape has changed significantly in recent years, with increasing expectations around child safety, consent, data security, and professional practice. ELPA has been created to help support photographers working in these environments and to provide resources tailored specifically to our unique sector.

We’re proud that Five Graces Photography has been involved in supporting the development of this initiative and contributing to the conversations that have helped bring it to life.

ELPA launches with practical resources including Child Safe Photography Standards, consent templates, risk assessment tools, and guidance designed specifically for photographers working in early learning settings.

As a business that photographs thousands of children each year, we believe child safety and professionalism should always be at the centre of what we do. It’s wonderful to see so many passionate photographers working together to strengthen and support our industry.

Congratulations to everyone who has contributed their time, expertise, and energy to getting ELPA off the ground. This is an exciting step forward for childcare photography in Australia.

I honestly can’t believe I have to write this, but here we are.

Please treat our team with respect.

Over the past few years, there have been significant changes to the way photographers are permitted to work within early learning centres. Many of the systems and processes that people assume are available to us simply aren’t. We are not permitted to use phones or devices while working in centres, and we often have no live communication with our office team throughout the day.

We do our best. We work hard. We care deeply about the children we photograph.

Are mistakes made occasionally? Yes. We are human. When they happen, we will always do everything reasonably possible to make things right.

What is not acceptable is abuse.

If a member of our team is subjected to aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour, we reserve the right to refuse service, not photograph your child, delete your child’s photos and not supply them to you and provide a refund of your registration fee.

No photograph is worth someone being screamed at.

And while we’re at it, please remember that we are humans. Nice humans.

In fact, if we weren’t nice humans, your children probably wouldn’t smile for us. The reason we’re able to capture those genuine grins, giggles and moments of connection is because our team genuinely cares about children and loves what they do.

We spend our days sitting on tiny chairs, crawling on the floor, wiping snotty noses, singing songs, making silly noises and building trust with little people so families can have beautiful memories to keep forever.

So please, be kind.

It costs you absolutely nothing.

Thank you to the overwhelming majority of families who support us, encourage us, and treat our team with kindness. We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️

A little update for our beautiful families & centres 🤍

We sincerely apologise for the delay on some printed Photo Week items. Unfortunately, ongoing disruptions to overseas plastics manufacturing due to the war have significantly delayed the production of our photo albums.

The good news is — our new shipment of albums has finally arrived 🙌 and all outstanding orders are now being packed and dispatched over the next few days.

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness and understanding while we worked through circumstances completely outside our control. We truly appreciate your support 🤍
