Models are artists in their own right, but that also means models have their own style. Some models are commercial models and some have an editorial look. Commercial modeling requires different poses and expressions and so it’s often difficult to transition between the two. If you’re starting out, figure out which way you lean. The reality is certain industries require certain looks and so if you find you’re getting knocked back, it might just be that you’re more suited in another genre, not that you’re a bad model.
In saying that, it is possible to do both. It just takes an understanding of the craft and possibly some guidance from someone who knows what to look for.
