Canada, Washington — you’ve been a blast🫶🏼🇨🇦🇺🇸

It feels bittersweet being at the airport where this journey began just less than a month ago. A journey that I had been striving for, an adventure I was aiming to achieve, and a dream I wanted to live. And here I am, having fulfilled exactly that, having fulfilled what I was waiting so long for.

I saw sights I couldn’t comprehend were real, experienced laughter of the purest kind, and soaked in every moment with happiness at the forefront of them all.

And the best part was the people I got to experience it with.

Thank you ᴋʏᴀʀᴀ, ɢᴇᴍᴍᴀ, ᴢɪᴀ, ʀʜᴇᴀ + ʜᴜᴄᴋʟᴇʙᴇʀʀʏ for showing me around Vancouver and letting me stay at your place. You gave me my first ever memories and impression of Canada — and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Next time I’ll also bring you more Milo🤣

Thank you Nicole | PNW Dog Photographer for being so open to my change of plans with coming to the US! Seeing Washington with you and having you understand my Australian slang/accent (Aussies🤝🏼Kiwis) was honestly the best way I could’ve spent that week!

And lastly, thank you to Dog Photographer in Chilliwack, British Columbia 🇨🇦 for the best 10 days of road tripping, sight-seeing, and adventuring. You made my dream become reality, and you made the most important part of the trip the most special. But, honestly, it was special as is meeting and spending time with one of my favourite ever photographers. Appreciate you so much!💕

This trip really just keeps getting better and better! Today we paddled Lake Louise and almost had it to ourselves at times — and not to mention how goddamn BLUE that water was! Peaceful, memorable, like nothing I’ve ever done before, I didn’t think this journey to Canada could get any better but here I am being proven wrong again and again🥺

Marin - Mix

Having the best time hanging with Dog Photographer in Chilliwack, British Columbia 🇨🇦 and seriously LOVED photographing this enthusiastic girl last night😍

In saying this, our big adventure has only just begun! Today we arrived in Valemount, embarking on the start of our Banff road trip which is the focal point of my entire trip to Canada! My jaw is already on the floor and we haven’t even arrived yet!🤯

Malibu - GSD

On Sunday I ticked off a bucket list item by going to one of Dog Photographer in the PNW’s Portfolio Days — and I couldn’t have been happier!🥺

Despite initially struggling with a close quarter location, lack of waterfall shooting experience, and trying not to break an ankle on wet rocks, it really was the perfect challenge. I tend to stick to what I know, settling for environmental comfort over experimentation. I’m used to wide spaces, easy to traverse landscapes and (most importantly) water that isn’t bloody freezing! Even with all these factors I managed to make it work and am very pleased with the outcome and the learning experience!

MASSIVE thank you to Leah for rescheduling this portfolio day so I’d be able to attend it during my month in Canada/US! Couldn’t be more thankful! And thank you to Nicole | PNW Dog Photographer Brianna | Olympic Peninsula Dog Photographer & Emily Menefee for being great company + the wonderful models, Malibu & Bowie🤍

Who knows, there’ll probably be more portfolio day attendances in the future👀

Rhea - Ridgeback

Canada, you’ve been everything I’ve dreamed of and more😍🇨🇦

I’ve only been here for 3 days but I couldn’t be more obsessed if I tried! The forests, the lakes, the mountains — I’m in AWE! I think I could cry with how beautiful it is, and I’m constantly questioning if what I’m seeing is even real!

I still have over 3 weeks to go of exploring, meeting some of my favourites and continuing to create a portfolio of lifetime. Cannot wait to show you all because I’ve already taken so many show-stoppers🩵
