A beautiful, sunny first day in Canada. It is quite warm here, luckily I added a few short sleeved tops to my suitcase. The flight was around an 18 hour ordeal, counting the flight from Cairns to Brisbane and layover time.

This happens in my backyard every June. I have tried to be a lot more selective in the shots I have taken this year as I may have got a tad carried away last year. Although the tree is in my backyard and it sounds and probably looks easy getting the birds in the right light and without a shadow cast over their heads by the flowers has turned out to be less easy than at first appearance. This is a juvenile Sahul Sunbird, male.
