Birds @ Hutt Lagoon (Pink Lake), WA. Single shot image ;)

It’s been a looooooong while since my last upload as we currently transform our idyllic Gold Coast bush property keeping me busy!

Eventually, I needed a break, back to the travelling spirit!

With 50’000 images of our amazing Australian Journey on file and only 20 so far uploaded, I will not run out of presentable images from that time, just have to find time to pre-select and post-process.

Had a quick look into my ‘Australian Birds Guide’ trying to find the name of my ‘actors’ in this image, trust them to be likely some species out of the family of Sandpipers. If anyone can identify them, pls let me know!

We have seen a good number of ‘Pink Lakes’ while touring Australia, Hutt Lagoon just south of fantastic Kalbarri NP been our favourite!

Mangles Kangaroo Paw, photographed during our pursuit of the stunning Western Australian Wildflower Season in Oct 2016.

With my 18th image of our amazing Australian Journey I venture to yet again another field of photography within my broad portfolio, this time it is within the sphere of wildflower & macro photography, a passion that goes back over 40 years!

Mangles Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos manglesii), commonly known as the red-and-green kangaroo paw, is a plant species endemic to Western Australia, and the floral emblem of that state. The flower has become symbolic of the region and is stunningly beautiful!

We were so incredibly blessed to travel straight through the peak of Wildflower Season in WA, and what a glorious experience that has been! We will be back, no doubt about that one!

Blue Mountains, NSW

The 17th uploaded image of our amazing Australian Journey is an image taken along the Narrow Neck Trail looking south-east.

While Gary Hayes has not been with me for this one, he deserves the utmost credit for showing me the ultimate heart of the Blue Mountains as well as tipping me off on this mesmerising trail.

There will be future images taken during photo shoots we conducted together to sites in his enormously rich guidebook. So, if visiting the Blue Mountains seeking professional photographic input, there is no better than Gary!

The Blue Mountains been our last major stop on our amazing journey caravanning around Australia, and been as mesmerising as we expected them to be! We will be back, no doubt about!

Lake Logue Nature Reserve, WA.

The 16th uploaded image of our amazing Australian Journey is an aerial image taken with one of my drones, this time the DJI Phantom 3 Professional.

Lake Logue Nature Reserve been shown to us by the local Ranger and is virtually inaccessible without excellent local knowledge.

It offers a largely untouched ecosystem that includes those scurrile ‘white lakes’ with surreal tree formations as shown here in this areal image.
