From the beginning right through to the end, every kid who walked through the gates of Gold Coast Wake Park played a part in making the last 10 years something I’ll never forget.

A massive shoutout to my groms, the regulars I’ve had the privilege of spending countless weekends with, watching you all grow up, chasing new tricks, that will stay with me forever.

You all became family. And that’s what makes this so hard. Knowing there’ll be no more weekends spent at the park with you all honestly breaks me.

I’m still trying to process it all, and I’m feeling pretty lost.

Swipe through for some throwbacks, some of the moments that made this place so special.ā¤ļø

Tuesdays with Tanner J Watkins

It all started as a challenge from the groms. Every day of the week was meant to belong to someone different… but somehow Tanner Tuesdays outlasted them all, becoming a weekly tradition for more than six months.

Thanks for all the banter, the laughs, and for constantly saying , ā€œDon’t be a pussy!ā€

It’s been pretty special watching you grow up. From the shy kid who wanted a photo but was too scared to ask, to the class clown everyone loves having around. You brought so much energy, and the park was always a better place when you were there.

From the beginning to the end with MAC FORT .

You couldn’t keep this kid off the water.

I still remember helping you land your first tantrum. Then, years later, the roles started to reverse. You and the other groms went to bounce with me cos I wanted to flip on a trampoline. You got me landing front flips right up until I snapped my ankle and was the only adult getting carted away in an ambulance. Safe to say that wasn’t part of the plan.

There are so many memories with you that it’s impossible to fit them into one post.

You’ve always been like a little brother to me. Watching you grow up at the park has been something pretty special.

And if I was in the water shooting, I could almost guarantee, you were about to land on top of me.

Thanks for all the laughs, the chaos, and the memories, little bro.

SAM KENYON always had a way of making you believe in yourself.

No matter what, it was always, ā€œNah, you got it.ā€ He had mo

Some places are just places.

Gold Coast Wake Park was never one of them.

For the last 10 years, this lake has been my second home. It was where I escaped the pressures of adult life, where every spare moment was spent, and where I never felt alone.

Thank you, Gold Coast Wake Park, for creating more than a cable park. You created a community. A place where strangers became family, kids grew into incredible athletes.

I’m forever grateful that you believed in me and my photography. For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of documenting this place and the people who made it special. Countless hours were spent lakeside with a camera in hand, capturing first rides, new tricks, crashes and the moments in between. Knowing those images became part of the park’s story and were used to showcase it around the Gold Coast is something I’ll always be proud of.
Huge thanks to Kim Watkins , Daniel Watkins for this.

Some of my favourite memories weren’t behind the camera though. They were spent on the dock cheering someone on, helping them land a new trick, and hanging out with the groms who somehow managed to keep me young. They’ve pushed me on the water, challenged the way I see life, and become family.

Without this place, our paths may never have crossed.

If I’m honest, I’m still trying to figure out where I fit without this place. It’s been such a huge part of my life for so long. But no one can take away what it gave us, the friendships, the memories, the lessons, and the feeling of belonging.

Thank you for every lap, every sunset, every laugh, every friendship, and every memory.

You’ll always be home. ā¤ļø

And to everyone I’ve crossed paths with over the years, I’m sorry if I haven’t managed to include you here, there are simply too many memories, moments, and photos to fit them all in.
