There is no "right" way to capture pregnancy. There is only your way.

There’s something I never want to do with maternity sessions and that's put every woman into the same dress, the same pose, in the same location and call it a day.

Because no two pregnancies are the same. And neither should be your photos.

Maybe you’re drawn to something soft and romantic, maybe a bit whimsical.
Maybe you want to run barefoot through the forest or you want something wild, colourful and a little bit unexpected.
Maybe you want to embrace the darker more fierce side of pregnancy.

Or maybe you have absolutely no idea what you want yet and that’s okay too.

I want you to look back at these photographs years from now and remember more than what you looked like.

I want you to remember how it felt to carry this little person.

This season of your life deserves more than a few pretty photos.

It deserves to be documented in a way that feels completely, unapologetically you.

I know exactly why people come to me when they want a moody vibe 🖤

It’s my vibe too.

The darker tones, the atmosphere, the little bit of grit and that cinematic feeling that makes an image feel like more than just a photo.

So when Capture With Breezy • Photographer & Wedding Content Creator came to me wanting that same moody feel for her branding photos, I knew we were going to create something great.

Branding photos don’t have to always be bright, clean and overly polished. They can have mood. They can have personality. They can actually feel like you 🖤

If you’re considering birth photography, there are a few things worth asking your photographer before you book.

Birth photography is a lot different from a regular photography session, and there are some things you might not think to ask until it’s too late.

I have compiled some very important questions to help you decide if your birth photographer is the right fit for you.

•What happens if I go into labour at 2am?

Birth doesn’t stick to business hours! Make sure your photographer offers genuine on-call availability around your due date.

•Do you have a back up photographer if something unexpected arises?

Birth photographers are on call around your due date, but we’re human too! Ask what happens if your photographer becomes unexpectedly unavailable when you go into labour. Do they have a trusted backup photographer who can step in and document your birth?

•Will you use flash if my birth happens at night?

Ask how they photograph in low light. Flash can be harsh and distracting during such an intimate moment. Your photographer should have the equipment and experience to work beautifully in low light conditions.

•Will you be unobtrusive?

You want someone documenting the story, not someone making you feel like you’re having a photoshoot.

•Will my images be shared online?
Make sure you know exactly how your privacy is handled.

And perhaps the most important question…

•Do I feel completely comfortable with this person being in the room?

Because birth photography isn’t just about the moment your baby arrives.

It’s the anticipation. The nerves. Your partner’s reaction. The tiny details. The first cry. The first cuddle.

You can’t recreate your birth. Choose someone who knows how to preserve it beautifully 💗
