This road in Yarwun is home to the property the McEachran’s once lived, loved and laboured. It began when Malcom and Heather were newlyweds; they built a homestead amongst the rolling hills of Mt Sugarloaf, raised babies, purchased a farm and grew mangoes and pawpaws and zucchinis and cucumbers.
Many, many years later, now retired and living in town, their grandchildren reached out to me for a photography voucher as a gift to Andrew, and with Mt Sugarloaf in the background, we spent an afternoon together celebrating four generations and the memories they’ve shared. There was certainly a feeling of nostalgia standing on that dirt road, and Heather told me over and over again that Malcom is the love of her life, a testament of their marriage and their life together that I won’t forget anytime soon.
What makes this session even more special is the fact that, when I mentioned my own grandparents also owned farming property in Yarwun, we discovered that my grandparents had not only been good mates with Malcom and Heather, but Malcom and my grandparents had gone to school together, and the Hall children (including my mother) had in fact grown up with the McEachran boys. It was a beautifully nostalgic way to end an era for me, which brings me to an announcement.
This gorgeous session was my last family session for a while. I’ve spent over a decade capturing memories for beautiful families such as the McEachran’s and have been so blessed by it, but I’m feeling the desire to take a break and have more time for my own family. This will look like minimal bookings going forward (you may have already noticed me slowing down). To everyone who has been part of my photography journey, from repeat bookings to a simple like on my post, thank you doesn’t even begin to express how grateful I am for you 🫶
