Some say a change (in my case a little 2 year break) is as good as a holiday! Well i actually took time off and enjoyed time with family & friends.

Working as a part time wedding photographer for 9 years with limited time balancing family & full time work took a toll on my physical body so i decided to take that break from it all. Working on your feet for 14 hours a wedding day is kind of like running a triathlon on adrenalin for the whole day. During the past two years i was only focused on client referrals which i thoroughly enjoyed and made me reflect on whether I had enough passion to continue. It confirmed that i did.

So at the end of last year i’ve thrown in the towel to corporate life after (18 years and 9 months) & made the decision to focus on my Small Business & focused on restructure the way i work as a Small Business Owner. My professional specialist skills include Business Improvement & Business Transformation, so who better to diagnose my own business than myself & develop better strategies in my own business.

So i’m opening 2019 with this announcement to say “I’m back!”

Note: I still thoroughly enjoy all referrals so keep them coming because most likely my previous clients are there as well along with friends.

There are some more big announcements at a later date but for now I’ll leave you with a final image from last year Madeleine & Lareh (there is a new blog in the future from previous works not shown)

Artifex Photographic Media has grown into a publishing platform to help support photographer’s who are dedicated to shooting on Film. You can check out what I’ve been up to on www.afps.blog the past few months bringing a passion to share stories to life.

However I will still photograph couples as the need arises. This weekend we have Mark & Judy’s wedding however we spent some time last week getting comfortable in front of the camera. I think they are well prepared now!

Last year was an interesting time for me. Taking some personal time aside to focus on my family and myself has really helped me focus on what I loved.

It takes a little bit of time to reflect back on the amazing couples that we have had the blessing and opportunities to be part of. The planning, the suggestions, the long discussions of "The Day"

And then the day comes around and it's like a whirlwind of creating memories with loved ones.

I'll just get in early to say thank you for all those that got involved and of coarse my beautiful family for their amazing support and the amount of time and effort required to deliver brilliance.
