That’s all, folks 👋 After 12 years of photographing weddings I have officially said goodbye to the wedding industry with a full heart and deep gratitude for the journey. 
 
I photographed my last wedding in November 2025, after finishing up photographing elopements in early 2025. 
I still love the job and the industry so wholeheartedly, however I have always known that it would be the right decision to leave whilst loving the s**t out of my work rather than waiting til I was over it. 😅
I decided to prioritise family time on weekends with Courtney and our young girls. I think every dad of young kids will vibe with this but I feel like I missed too much over their early years and a career change was my way of showing my girls that they are my whole world and all I want to do is spend time with them. 
 
Biggest thanks of all goes to my wife, who is continuing . The light of my life, my biggest supporter, my lady. This life is best lived alongside you.
 
The next biggest thanks goes to my 400+ couples that trusted me to capture their celebrations of all forms. What a bloody privilege.
Many of my friends actually began as my wedding couples, and that’s fu***ng rad.
 
Special mention goes to my parents for being the most loving and supportive parents imaginable. 
Another special mention goes to Mr Schlank, my high school teacher (now my mate) that got me into photography in high school and loaned me his camera to kick things off. I never forget when people believed in me as a kid. Caring, attentive teachers can truly change your world. 
 
There’s way too many wedding vendors to thank for the fun times, referrals, coffee hangs, mid-wedding beers, advice and dancefloor antics. I’ve received so much love from the wedding community over the years and hope I contributed back just as much. I’ll list some of the wonderful local legends in the comments below.
 
I have been running my landscape maintenance company for the last 3 years and now thoroughly enjoy working Monday to Friday, and still loving the absolute s**t out of what I do for work 😅

Yup. Two more spots to fill.
We have carefully refined our business over the last 10 years of shooting weddings, to know our numbers around what we are able to take on each year.
This year, we set that number at 10, so we booked 13 (lollll, difficult to say no when we hear from our kinda people) aaaaaand we agreed to properly cap it at 15 weddings across the calendar year.
So that means we have capacity for just two more weddings for this year. Not for specific dates; we just have the capacity to squeeze in two more weddings before the end of the calendar year.
If you’ve been umming and ahhing with your plans, nows the time to lock some plans in and flick us a message.

Kels & Jack got married on Saturday with a truly wonderful team of vendors to bring their relaxed and FUN vision to life.
They also made five custom t-shirts (merch!!) and picked 5 names out of a hat to receive them, with the condition being that the recipients join K&J to kick off the dance floor for a big ol’ communal first dance. HUGE. VIBES. 🕺 💃 🪩
I’ll have to make a reel of it coz it was farkin’ epic, and I’ve never seen it done before!!

Isn’t it crazy how quickly time can go? It feels like a month ago that we welcomed these two into HQ for their ceremony, and then capturing their epic reception/party two weeks after at
❤️
Something we are seeing much more of is our couples choosing to seperate their ceremony and reception - either on the same day (like we did for our wedding) or days/weeks later.
It’s common to see much smaller guest lists for the ceremony (these two just had two witnesses) and then larger numbers at receptions. It’s can be a great way to prioritise a ceremony experience that lets you both enjoy every second in a more intimate setting, if you are at all concerned about the ceremony/crowd aspect.
The best of both worlds.

We still think our best decision for our wedding (apart from the person we married…) was having a smaller ceremony. This allowed me (Jake) to not freak the f**k out and be anxiously absent-minded during it.

There’s a million ways to do a wedding! And ZERO wrong ways, as long as you stick true to you.

Make sure you get some time to yourselves, away from everyone else, at a few points throughout the day so that you can debrief/reconnect/be present in the moment.
That includes getting away from your photographer.

We always give couples the option to take this space to reset and feel really connected to each other across the busy nature of a wedding day (and to get bangin’ wide photos).
