Today’s session was one of those beautiful reminders of exactly why I do what I do.
As a neurodivergent photographer, getting to meet families who value flexibility, understanding, adaptability, and authenticity means more to me than I can properly put into words. This isn’t something I “switch on” for sessions, it’s simply who I am.
This gorgeous family spent their Sunday morning soaking in time together, sharing laughs, cuddles, little moments, and simply enjoying being present with one another. Their beautiful children taught me so much today, as kids always do.
After the session, mum sent me a message saying her son said he “had the best time” and that I’m his friend now 🥹 Honestly, that is one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive.
Moments like that remind me photography is about so much more than photos. It’s connection. It’s creating a space where families feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves exactly as they are.
No judgement. No pressure for perfection. Just patience, understanding, laughter, and genuine joy.
I’m incredibly grateful that simply being myself behind the lens can bring comfort and happiness to others, because truthfully, it brings so much joy to me too.
