A fun mini branding shoot for Kerrie this week! When I first met Kerrie nearly 4 years ago, her coworking space had just opened and I had just started up my photography business. This huge monstera was just a little plant - a great symbol for the growth we have both seen over the years! These plants aren’t amazing all by themselves, Kerrie and her green-thumbed offsider Kari have created a beautiful indoor green space. The perfect, calm co-working environment.

I hear these things all the time and it’s time to let them go!
1. Photogenic - (almost) every single person I talk to says they aren’t photogenic. I think it’s a made up concept! You are who you are. Your family loves you. Your people will not hate the portraits you have taken. One day these portraits will be looked back on with love and fond memories. Don’t let this word “photogenic” steal these memories from your loved ones. 2. Niche - for the last 3 years I did what I was told and found a niche for my work. The branding space is what has given my business its initial boost but it’s time for me to branch out - I love taking all sorts of portraits. No more niche!
3. Perfect - like everyone, I can be pretty hard on myself! Nobody is perfect and neither am I. I’ve found myself paralyzed by the need to only put out “perfect” work, but no more! I’m not perfect and neither are you! Let’s have fun and see what we can find in the imperfect moments.

The last session of 2025 and I think it was my absolute favourite! It’s been a few years since I last photographed a wedding, but I’m super excited to be capturing this special moment for the lovely couple soon. An engagement shoot is a perfect way to ease the nerves - for both me and them!
