Absolutely stoked and very proud to share some of my prize winning photos from this year's Gawler Show!

This year I entered 6 photos and came away with 6 placings, 5x 1st place and 1x 3rd place, as well as a best exhibit.

Over the last 12 months I have tried to get out and shoot different things, rather than the 'usual'. This involved attending a photography safari at Monarto Safari Park and an Astrophotography tour, both with AdventureArt Photography, a trip to Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens and Menglers Hill with my Uncle who is also loves photography, and checking out the Inside Line Mountain Bike Club State Series race at Fox Creek.

Prizes were as follows:
1st place - open colour - animals
1st place - open black and white - animals
1st place - open colour - sport
1st place - open colour - sunrise/sunset
1st place and best exhibit - open colour - shoot the night sky
3rd place - open colour - flowers

Another fun tour with AdventureArt Photography

This was another opportunity for me to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. A photography genre that I always loved the look of but had never ventured out to try it for myself!

Being into photography and having a love for animals, I've always wanted to go on a safari. While I still haven't made it to Africa, I did have the opportunity to go on a photography safari at Monarto Safari Park with AdventureArt Photography.

This wasn't your standard bus tour that you would normally experience at Monarto, it was an actual safari 4wd style car with open sides for the best views for photography!

While I didn't get the sunrise photo I was hoping for, these are some of my favourites from the experience.

I headed out to the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens last week to try to capture the autumn colours. Unfortunately, most of the leaves had fallen off the trees, or had not changed colour yet.

I did take the opportunity to capture some flowers and the bees flying around. I've always had a goal of capturing the perfect shot of a bee, so this location was great. While I still have some work to do, I was pretty happy with what I took.

Well here it is! After practicing sunset portrait shots with Daniel a few weeks before, I headed out with Mary to give maternity photography a shot.

This one was certainly a challenge and we were both exhausted by the end of it. Over 30 degrees during the day made it a warm one to start with, but with a pregnant lady and a photographer running around and mostly using one arm, I think we did okay!

I learnt lots (I prefer a textured sky!) and Mary loved the photos so all in all, it was definitely a success!

Had a wonderful time working with the amazing Daniel from Gawler In Photographs last week.

I was after a location to take some maternity photos so asked Daniel where he would suggest, knowing he would know the perfect spot. Not only did he know the perfect spot, we headed up the hill and he was the perfect model and even gave me some tips as this my my first (planned) sunset shoot!

I learnt so much from both the shoot itself and editing the photos. The results far exceeded my expectations and has left me keen to get there again for the next shoot!

A big thank you to everyone who has liked, left comments, shared photos or even sent private messages telling me how much you have enjoyed seeing the photos. While I am happy to hear I have put a smile on your face, please know you have also put a smile on my face and made feel like the long hours over the BC weekend and hours editing were all worth it 🥰

Now for the team that never loses...the team that you can't play without...the officials (and volunteers)! I may not have captured everyone, but I'm sure everyone joins me in thanking you, pictured or not, for your efforts over the weekend.

Yes, some photos have already been posted in other albums, but I felt these photos deserved their own album too.
