When I started my Photography Business 8 years ago, my very first photo shoot was a life moment session. A friend had reached out to me and asked if I could help a friend out whose mum had been diagnosed with breast cancer, they wanted to capture some photos with her to treasure. I was more than happy to take these photos, as they will now have them to treasure for ever.
It dawned on my this week after I received a message from a friend, whom I had just taken family photos for, she had messaged to say sadly her nan had passed away. We had just captured some beautiful beach photos, and 4 generation photos. They are now so grateful for the photos, and will have them to treasure forever.
Over those 8 years I have taken so many life moment photos for families, and those that were ill have passed on, or family members in those photos have since passed.
This is something that I feel so passionate about, and have never really advertised that I do these type photo shoots. The reason being is because people have just reached out to me personally, and I have arranged these sessions directly with the family.
I did unfortunately miss a life moment photo session for a family, as the family member became sick quickly and passed.
When a loved one passes, you realise all you have left are the memories, and the photos to treasure.
I strongly recommend you take those photos, even the shocking ones. Because when a love one passes, you will treasure those photos forever.
I am more than happy to take life moment photos for you, I am happy to be discreate, or creative, I am happy to take photos in the comfort of the family home, in the nursing home, or at their favourite location.
You be the creator of your images you wish to treasure.
Just don't regret not taking the photo.
