A curious decision… Read the definition of commercial usage carefully. Whilst it IS technically correct in a photographic context, its difficult to see how the 'free' photo license DOESN'T promote the blog as an entity in itself.

The controversial move is set to draw professional photographers’ ire at a time when the stock photography market is marred by low prices and under attack from new mobile photography players…

NEW GALLERY: the Epson Print Gallery
The Epson Print Gallery is a joint venture between Team Digital and Epson Australia. It is housed at 268 Lord st, Perth. The gallery’s charter is to promote photography and to advocate the photographic archival-inkjet print as a medium. On display will be images from emerging and established photographic artists.

APSCON is the Australian Photographic Society's annual convention – alternating between the States and Territories. APSCON provides a varied programme of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, tours and social events. A diverse range of top quality photographers are always on the programme. EXHIBITION OF INTEREST: "Picturing New York: Photographs from The Museum of Modern Art"
Depicting the iconic New York that captivates the world’s imagination and the idiosyncratic details that define New Yorkers’ sense of home, this exhibition from MoMA’s extraordinary photography collection celebrates the city in all its vitality, ambition and beauty. Made by approximately 90 artists responding to the city as well as professionals on assignment, including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Lewis Hine, Helen Levitt, Cindy Sherman, Alfred Stieglitz, and Weegee, over 150 works reveal the deeply symbiotic relationship between photography and the ‘city that never sleeps’ – New York. Both an exploration of the life of the city and a documentation of photography’s evolution throughout the twentieth century, Picturing New York celebrates the great and continuing tradition of capturing the grit and glamour of one of the world’s greatest urban centres.

COMPETITION OF INTEREST: the "Golden Shopping Trolley Awards" for Urban Landscape.
Urban Landscape is something relating to or concerned with cities, city life or densely populated areas. Urban landscape photography is usually associated with imagery within contemporary mediums, cities, buildings, streets, subways and just about anywhere human life exists and lives. It represents and expresses experiences that exist among these areas and it can sometimes focus more on the patterns or processes of those areas rather than the people.
