Myotherapists for many years have been associated with Health by most people including private health insurers (as you can claim services through Private Health).

At this time, the Government has classed the services provided by Myotherapists as personal services which means they cannot operate unless their patients have endorsed care plans where the therapies are needed to help prevent a significant deterioration in functional independence.

It’s about time that Myotherapy gets the recognition from Government that it deserves and to be considered part of the Allied Health Services considering they work along side and with this industry to work as a team to aid people’s health. This is people's physical health which turns into a mental health issue on top of what that people are already going through if not attended to, compounding the issues.

If you are like me and rely on Myotherapy to keep you body going, I ask for you to email your local MP’s, Share this post and make some noise to show your support for a service which helps keep people off constant pain relief and out of hospitals.

Myotherapy was deemed an essential service during our last bout of Stage 3 restrictions but in the current easing has been ignored. The goal posts have repeatedly been changed on us by the DHHS and for an industry built by small businesses, this isn’t good enough. We don’t make a lot of money, most of us work for ourselves and so not working for the last 12 weeks has been devastating.

A good percentage of our industry is degree qualified and of those that aren’t, the minimum study is still over two and a half years. We are also required yearly to keep up with professional development quotas and are able to obtain provider numbers so our patients can claim through their private health.

On a daily basis we work side by side with Physios, Osteos and Chiros, all of whom are back to routine care, and we are also regularly referred to by GPs. To be lumped in with ‘personal services’ and ‘beauty’ by the Victorian Government is a real kick in the teeth.

To have not even been given a reason as to why we haven’t been included in the current easing of restrictions is shocking. If you’ve ever seen a Myo or know someone who has, you would know our skill set and hygiene/infection control put us head and shoulders above all businesses that were given the freedom to work yesterday and easily on par with those in Allied Health. Procedurally, what we do with patients and how we work face to face is the same as Allied Health and to have not been respected enough as an industry to show that is devastating.

***Ride for Danny Day - Saturday 10th September 2016***

FCMP will be holding the “Ride for Danny Day” on Saturday 10th September.

All gate entry fees will be donated to the son of Danny Edlington. Danny sadly passed away on April 4th 2015 after a tragic accident.

There will also be an online Auction of signed merchandise with proceeds been donated (links will be posted at a later date) and a donation tin for those wishing to donate a little more to Danny’s son.

We would love to see you all down there contributing to the day!

This is a picture of my family on my sisters wedding day, all we have left to look back on.

Matteo Pomponio, lives in Ancona Italy.. He used my sister as a gold card. Married her and had a little boy to her.
As a few of you may know, my sister was very close with her family, but she did have a mental illness, Bipolar, she had always been medicated and lived a normal life.. But when Matteo came along he turned the tables upside down, stopped all her medications and took over .. He ripped her from her family more than a few times and Courtney would always come running back when ever she had the chance , we welcomed this guy into our family with open arms, without even knowing him, feed him, put a roof over his head a bed to sleep in, a car, my dad got him one of the best jobs in Australia and he took us all for granted .. Last we saw of Courtney she was very unwell, mentally, Then next we knew she was on a plane to Italy with Courtney and Jordan.. Without warning , without saying goodbye. It's been 3 years now and NO one has heard anything, as you could imagine our family are very concerned for the well being of Courtney and her little boy . Please share this, and if anyone knows anything at all.. Can you please let us know
