This was a 'Bucket List' trip for me - to witness the Great Migration - the continuous circular movement of over 2 million wildebeest and zebra across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of fresh grazing and water. This photo was taken in August when the massive herds had reached the Northern Serengeti and were braving the strong currents and dangerous predators of the Mara river before crossing over into the Masai Mara, Kenya. The African fish eagle is a large species of eagle found throughout sub-Saharan Africa wherever large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply occur.
