On Saturday, 9th May 2026, the elegant setting of Junction Hotel became the backdrop for a meaningful Mother’s Day Soirée—an evening dedicated to honouring the incredible women in our lives while raising vital funds to support vulnerable women across Queensland.
Hosted by Windu Hestati, the fundraising event was held in support of Vinnies Queensland and its ambitious 500 Homes Project, According to the 2024–25 financial year figures, the initiative had already helped 238,555 Queenslanders through accommodation, support services, and pathways toward sustainable housing.
The evening was filled with joy, connection, and heartfelt celebration—bringing together community, fashion, and philanthropy in a vibrant atmosphere.
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, live performances, interactive games, and a relaxed yet sophisticated environment designed for networking, celebration, and meaningful connection.
The theme, “Dress to Dazzle”, encouraged attendees to arrive in their most glamorous attire, adding an extra layer of elegance and excitement to the occasion.
Beyond the glamour, the evening highlighted an urgent social reality: the growing number of women and children experiencing persistent homelessness across Queensland.
Particularly concerning was the rise in homelessness among older women aged 55 and above—now the fastest-growing demographic affected by housing insecurity.
Through their attendance and generosity, guests directly contributed to funding solutions aimed at addressing this growing crisis.
The curated program offered memorable moments throughout the night, including
an exclusive fashion showcase by ModaRita - Rita Grigutiene , energetic performances by DJ Mahadewi and Mark Francis, and a signature hair tutorial by Giang Brooke, who shared effortless styling tips designed for busy women.
Guests also participated in the sentimental “Me and Mum Photo Memory” experience, enjoyed the “Pamper & Empower” marketplace, and took part in a raffle featuring an array of exciting prizes.
Adding further significance to the evening were special appearances by distinguished guests including Dr Asti Mardiasmo, Dr Nikita Sharma, and Nick Herron, each lending their voice and support to the event’s important mission.
More than a celebration, the Mother’s Day Soirée stood as a powerful reminder that when women come together with purpose, compassion, and community spirit, they can create lasting change. It was an evening that beautifully blended style with substance—leaving a meaningful impact far beyond the ballroom.
