It's interesting the things we dont know we are holding onto.
Deep in the subconscious.
A nervous system reaction thats slowly simmering away until something turns up the heat and it becomes visceral, boiling temperature.
My body screaming at me, thoughts foggy, words lost.
Today I am practising letting go.
Letting go of things I didn't know were stuck within me, until now.
Let go let go let go let go.

Ive been slowly but surely building a new website for my photography. In between the balance and chaos of running two businesses, making time for friends and family, making time for art, fitness, eating well, house chores. Trying to stay grounded and not feel crowded.
Its hard to believe itll soon be 6 years ago that I moved to this beautiful part of the country and whilst working on this new site ive been revisiting shoots from the past 5 years, they feel like time capsules...
Here's a selection of images from the archive, when I was in my 'shooting in a golden field' era.

(P.s. im moving into a new era which im excited about and will share some work from soon I hope! )

Dropped my plans for the afternoon,
Passed a hairdresser selling $10 bunches of dahlias in their shop window.
Found an injured python.

The last few nights ive woken from the rain, so heavy, and in my half dream state I imagine the house is being carried away on the ocean. We're drifting along under a starry sky, safe and dry inside while the waves crash up against the walls.

Last night before bed i watched the water gushing down our street.
Lit by the white streetlight, through a rain splattered window.
It made me unsettled, but mesmerised still.

These nights of vivid dreaming and storms feel unreal somehow. Alternate universes and alternate lives playing out in our minds.

A liminal space.

I wanted to write something this morning and i wanted to share some recent work. And although the writing doesnt really relate to these images, i do feel a sense of dreaminess and magic when I look at both. So here they are, my words and my pictures. ✨️

My last journal entry of 2025 was written laying beside my sleeping love, at a spring fed creek just outside of Castlemaine Vic. Apart from the occasional breeze, everything was stillness. As I wrote I paused to watch a grey fantail fly down from the tree & land briefly on his arm before realising its misjudgement of perch and taking off again.
I started to write "the year is coming to a close", which made me think about time. How it's strange to think of time having endings & beginnings, when really its just one long continuum; things flowing into other things.

2025 was one of the most challenging, unexpected, transformative & important years of my life.

I experienced a huge amount of loss, in many forms. I felt so many different types of grief, including the grief of realising I hadn't been true to myself for a long time. And whilst feeling like the universe was trying to squash me under its cosmic boot, I also realised this was such an enormous opportunity for growth. Do I feel like a different person now to who i was at the start of that year, absolutely yes.

The year twisted & turned to reveal so many adventures, travels, connections with people, connections with nature, beautiful opportunities that I absolutely did not expect. And it showed me that things can be completely s**t, & then totally amazing in very quick succession. But my number one lesson was listening to my self. Tuning in to my feelings, knowing when to step away, knowing when to step towards.

Looking back, I find it hard to believe everything that happened last year fit into the space of 12 months. And it makes me ever so excited to see what 2026 has to reveal

Through it all, I was so grateful for my work, and having two businesses that I am so passionate about. Creating beautiful photographs & connecting community through music events is so much a part of my soul now, such a guiding light through the hard times. So thankyou to everyone who has supported me through the past years & for those to come! I appreciate you more than you know.

Here's to another epic year ahead, and the lessons it brings.

My Story

Hi, I’m Sara, a laid back nature loving photographer. I live in the wondrous land of Northern Rivers NSW with my husband and two beautiful puppies.

I began my love affair with photography when, after finishing a degree at University and feeling very lost, I found my way to the darkroom of the Centre for Creative Photography in Adelaide. And that was that... I would spend hours upon hours in that darkroom, watching images appear before me under the red lights, completely mesmerised, forgetting to EAT (which if you know me, is a pretty crazy statement because I am always hungry).

One day after a long time being the ultimate traditionalist, I picked up a digital camera and begun my career photographing LOVE in all its many forms. People saying 'I do', people kissing and snuggling and being just purely there in the moment, goddesses carrying bundles of love in their blossoming bellies… I like to make my subjects feel relaxed and happy, as though they are just hanging out with a friend who happens to have lots of camera gear!

I look forward to chatting with you!
