Messier 78

Messier 78 is a reflection nebula located approximately 1,600 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Orion. known for its bluish glow caused by starlight reflecting off interstellar dust.

I’ve tried to image this target several times over the past few years and i have always ended with bad images due to the seeing, guiding or clouds. Im happy to be able to finally tick it off the list.

Shot in HA LRGB the total exposure time is 4hours and 7mins.

Messier 16- The Eagle Nebula

Messier 16, is a star-forming region in the constellation Serpens, famous for its “Pillars of Creation”. A wide-field image of M16 shows not only the pillars but also the surrounding star cluster NGC 6611 and other nebulae features. The Pillars of Creation are prominent columns of gas and dust where new stars are forming, and they are illuminated by the intense radiation from massive, hot stars in the cluster.

My image of The Eagle Nebula Is a blend of HA, OIII and LRGB images.
Shot in HA,OIII,LRGB the total exposure time is: 7hours 15mins. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight.

NGC6188- Fighting Dragons Of Ara

NGC 6188 is situated in the southern constellation Ara, approximately 4,000 light-years away. NGC 6188 is a star-forming region, with the massive, young stars of the Ara OB1 association sculpting the nebula’s appearance. The nebula is known for its distinctive dark shapes, tens of light-years long, with bright edges, which have earned it the nickname “Fighting Dragons of Ara”.

One of my favourite deep sky objects to image in the night sky. My image of NGC6188 Is a blend of narrowband and LRGB images.
Shot in HA,OIII,SII,LRGB the total exposure time is: 8hours 25mins. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight.

This sunrise at Long Point Lookout in Tallong, NSW last Saturday morning was insane!

The Lagoon and Trifid Nebula

The Lagoon Nebula(right) or catalogued as Messier 8 is a giant interstellar cloud in the constellation Sagittarius. It is classified as an emission nebula and as an H II region.

The Trifid Nebula(left) catalogued as Messier 20 is an H II region in the north-west of Sagittarius in a star-forming region in a nearby spiral arm’s Scutum-centered part. It was discovered by Charles Messier on June 5, 1764. Its name means ‘three-lobe’. The object is an unusual combination of an open cluster of stars, an emission nebula, a reflection nebula, and a dark nebula (the apparent ‘gaps’ in the former that cause the trifurcated appearance also designated Barnard 85).

Shot in narrow band the total exposure time is: 3hours 45mins. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight and photoshop.
