Tayla & Lachlan ❤️‍🔥

It's 1C degree C (but feels colder) at midnight in the southern highlands on your wedding night. You've ducked out for some night photos on a full moon and a thick fog has rolled in. You're holding your new husband/wife tightly as you share your radiant body heat. It's quiet, apart from movements in the night and the faint voices from the warm reception at Peppers Manor House. Waiting for you are the guests who've gone the distance and will be soon sharing a couple of night caps to end the night.

You're tired after a day of celebrating.. YOU! Exhausted in fact but feeling so full of joy. You're floating around on cloud 9 having just experienced one of the best days of your life. You're taking this time to take a snapshot in your mind of how you feel, how it felt and how you never want this moment to end. There is a pop of light and the photos are done. You want to head back inside to the warmth but you never want to leave that feeling. Thankfully, you have the photos to remember it all for a lifetime 🥰

Plenty to come of this love story and if you know me well.. there are plenty of photos to share. This one and the story deserved its own space on the grid.

Chloe & Jak ❤️‍🔥

These two shared an intimate elopement experience which brought the universe to a standstill. Vows written purely for each other in that shared moment. Words that came from deep within their hearts and solidified their bond for life.

I remember tiptoeing around the chapel at Peppers Creek and taking in the atmosphere of the space. I wanted to capture that feeling, their connection and the the special love they share. It makes me so happy to look back through their photos and to take a step back into that afternoon spent with them. Hopefully it does for you too!

Whenever I'm asked what I like more weddings or elopements it's a question that stumps me. At the core of both weddings and elopements is the connection and commitment of two people. Some celebrations are big, colourful, loud and full of love. Some celebrations are very intimate, quiet, whimsical and also full of love. The truth is that I love them all; but it's the two people that make every celebration uniquely special.

Maybe I'm continuing on that theme of rain on your wedding/elopement day.. nothing to fear.. just embrace it and have the time of your lives. The proof is in the pictures 🥰

A cool wet day here in Newcastle has me thinking back to this beautiful elopement in the Blue Mountains at for

Rain at your wedding and elopement can make it even more special and intimate. Pulling the moments in closer, slowing things down and creating such a beautiful atmosphere. You might say... JACK you are CRAZY but really how special is this set of photos? You can feel the mood, the connection and see/feel yourself standing there.

We had quite a lot of rain and fog rolling through that afternoon but it didn't matter at all. After a cozy ceremony in front of the fireplace we ventured out with umbrellas. Making the most of some breaks in the weather and taking advantage of the mist as it rolled in.

This is so typical of the Blue Mountains and it's so pretty. Also.. I love the Australian bush when it rains. Your senses come to life with the smells, the sounds, the colours, contrast and textures.

Oh.. and this wedding was in the middle of March! Still warm but with that bite to the air you get in the Blue Mountains that always wants you to find the closest fireplace 🥰

I'll write some more about rain on your wedding day soon. It might be good luck (hah) but it definitely is special.

What a gorgeous venue and backdrop is 😍 I had known of the location but this was my first time shooting here. A gorgeous wedding with a big focus on good times with all the guests. With grounds like this, everything you need is just a stones throw away.

Is this something you considered when picking your wedding venue? Having a venue where everything you need (especially in a city like Sydney) is in one place means you can focus on how you want to spend your day. Quick portraits and back to the party? Knowing your guests don't need to travel once the wedding starts?
