This was one of those magical days, where everything aligned so perfectly. The day had started with grey skies and rain - then just before they arrived together, hand in hand, the sun came out. They had a beautiful ceremony on the White Elephant Cafe deck in Gnarabup, then we wandered off up Gnarabup Point to get some portraits just as the sunset turned pink. When I brought them back down to the beach I jokingly said (as a way of distracting them from the camera) “look for love heart shells on the shore” – and immediately they found one! Their plan to have a very relaxed wedding in Margaret River, by the ocean, with all their favourite people, was a total success. And they have the love heart shaped rock to prove it!

Under the guise of a family photoshoot, these two shocked their parents by announcing they were actually about to get married. Living in Europe, and coming back to Perth for a family visit, seemed like the perfect opportunity - and a fake family photoshoot was an easy way to get everyone together! With help from my sneaky celebrant mate TINA BURI | MARRIAGE CELEBRANT & MC we pulled the surprise off. A quick little backyard ceremony, some photos down the road, and then a dinner by private caterers Private Chef | Perth, WA it was the sweetest and easiest celebration!

For J&T, their wedding day was about bringing all their favourite people together and having a good time. We even managed to sneak in a few video games before the reception. And with most of their friends and family from the east coast, the Raffles Hotel Perth was the perfect spot to show off Perth.

What if your Plan B turns out to be pretty awesome? I wouldn’t have thought a hotel room could be the perfect place for an elopement ceremony but it turns out big windows, an awesome view and a rainy day creates quite the cosy space! It was just big enough for the minimum number of people needed for a legal wedding ceremony - the couple, Sally Bruce 💜 Perth Celebrant plus two witnesses (myself and one other!). We did try our luck outside in the rain for a bit, but with a view like this they were happy to head back to the room for a celebration drink!

Oh my goodness where do I even begin? I was swept away with all the love and good times at this Freo wedding. At one point, behind the scenes, the groom got teary and said something along the lines of “it’s just so amazing to have all the people you love in one room”, which made my heart hurt with so much joy and honour to be capturing it all. Absolutely loved hanging out with these two beautiful humans and all their favourite people – 10/10 amaze amaze amaze! ( )
