Very excited to be welcoming Renee Mulcahy Photography to Victoria in the next few days, and we have an exciting opportunity for photographers.
We’re looking foward to offering a special family session demonstration with Renee Mulcahy on Saturday 21st of February designed for photographers who want to see how a real family session comes together — from light to connection.
Renee is known for her natural, emotive family imagery and relaxed approach with clients. During this demonstration, she’ll show how she reads and uses available light on location, how she positions families as the light changes, and what she’s looking for before she even lifts the camera.
You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how she talks to families during a session — the prompts she uses, how she keeps things flowing, and how she creates genuine connection without forced posing.
This isn’t about a perfectly styled shoot — it’s about seeing the real process in action, including movement, small adjustments, and the way energy and communication shape the final images.
The cost to attend is $595, and to make it even more valuable (and fun!), attendees will also be invited into a VIP Facebook group chat. This will be a relaxed space to ask follow-up questions, share takeaways, and continue the conversation after the session — so you’re not just learning on the day, but getting ongoing support as well.
It’s hands-on, relaxed, practical, and designed to leave you feeling inspired and confident to take what you’ve learned straight into your own family sessions.
I’m excited to include a dedicated section on thoughtful ways to incorporate livestock and pets into your sessions. Livestock photography is a uniquely niche skill within rural photography—one that goes far beyond simply placing an animal in the frame. As rural photographers, we’re often welcomed by much-loved livestock or pets, or approached by families wanting distinctive, one-of-a-kind images that include their animals. This section will walk through the steps I use to create smooth, successful photo days, along with key considerations specific to livestock photography, including animal behavior, positioning, and how light and shadow can be used intentionally to enhance defining characteristics and create compelling, artful images.
The workshop will go for approximately 2hours, on Saturday February 21st, followed by a relaxed afternoon tea with Q & A. This is a once off opportunity to learn from & connect with leading Australian photographers in a unique setting.
Spots are very limited, to ensure a hands on customisable experience. To secure your spot please be in touch with Ruby on 0437130913.
