Over the past couple of years, Iโve had a quieter presence on social media.
And after several weeks focused on the Australian Dog of the Year Awards, it feels like the right moment to return to the broader heart of Puppy Tales.
When we set off on extended travels around Australia, one of my highest priorities was time and experiences with Keiko and Summer. Especially as Keiko moved into his senior years, I chose presence over posting. If there wasnโt time for social media, then there simply wasnโt time for social media.
Losing them both last year, especially Summer so unexpectedly, has only reinforced how much those shared moments mattered. They mean even more now, and those priorities were absolutely right for us.
I also needed space and quiet to grieve. That space is still something I need to honour from time to time.
For 16 years this month though, Iโve been trusted to photograph the love people have for their dogs, and other pets, as family. Iโve been invited into moments that are joyful, beautiful, tender and deeply meaningful. Staying quiet hasnโt always honoured those stories, or the trust placed in me to document them.
So in 2026, Iโm choosing to show up here with more intention.
Not perfectly.๏ฟฝNot constantly.๏ฟฝBut more ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ presence.
I have stories from sessions that have made me laugh and cry. I have photographs that still stop me in my tracks. I have tales from the road, lessons learned, insights shaped by experience and inspiration gathered along the way, drawn from life with senior dogs, a sometimes reactive dog, a squishy-faced cat, and now a puppy finding his way in the world.
Iโll be sharing dogs, stories, photography, travel, kindness and the moments in between. I wonโt be chasing algorithms or trying to perform for attention. If what I share resonates and youโd like to see more of it, those small signals on social still matter, a like, a comment, a moment of interaction. Otherwise, this quieter presence will likely slip past you unseen.
No big reset. No hard rules.
Just a quieter, more intentional way of showing up.
And I am happy youโre here.
