I’m really having fun painting this scene from our recent trip to Canada. Reliving that day, as we’d gone all that way to see the amazing Canadian Rockies, and needless to say on my first day I was very disappointed first, because I couldn’t see most of the mountains due to the heavy smoke blanketing the atmosphere, (fires in BC). Jason tried to get me to look on the bright side and stay optimistic that it would eventually clear up, which it did. My new positive outlook…took us to this waterfall near Jasper, where the sky was orange/pink and a surreal glow over everything. I stood there in awe and took a million photos of course. AND by the next day it had cleared up somewhat, so I could actually see the mountains on our journey on the Colombian Icefields Parkway. Here’s the first of my paintings being realised- which I think Is almost complete.
