Great day at the prom on board with Wildlife Coast Cruises as citizen scientist photographer today (30/08). A little wind added to the action as we logged 5 whales, 4 of which were lunge feeding with dolphins and birds. Also saw more whales in the distance.

Great day out yesterday around the island. Humpbacks, Southern Right Whale and a very cheeky one-eyed Peregrine Falcon who cracked the sh*ts (literally) at having her photo taken...great to see her back..

It was all heads and tail action yesterday (24/08) on board with Wildlife Coast Cruises for their Wilsons prom cruise. 4 whales encountered, more in the distance. We had tail throws, spy hops, feeding and for the second day running, a mugging. One whale actually tried to give the lucky passengers on the bow a salt water shower. Weird behaviour of the day was a whale showing us its fluke every 4 minutes for an hour.

Action from yesterday's prom cruise with Wildlife Coast Cruises as Citizen scientist. 11 whales, 15 more in the distance. We had muggings, tail throws, lunge feeds and a whale with a totally black fluke (underside of the tail). Thanks to Thommo and Crew for a great day.

Great first day out and about after recent knee surgery...met an old falcon friend, visited the whistling kites to see nesting progress and then off to Cape Woolamai to watch an endangered species try to increase their numbers..only on Phillip Island.

A treat this morning with a very special and rare visitor to the island..reported as a humpback, our local cetacean scientist confirmed it was in fact a Southern Right Whale. Very playful, it rolled in the swell, logged, swam on its back and even spied on the local surfers on its way west.

Short video of our beautiful Southern Right Whale at Penguin Parade this morning...originally posted as a humpback, its confirmed via this video and photos that it was an ultra rare SRW...What a treat.

"New Kites on the Block"...spotted no whales on my island travels but was very happy to watch this pair if Whistling Kites start building a new nest...took it turns to fetch and then a combined effort to make a comfy home..probably the only 20 mins of sun today..
