// THE FIRST WHALE OF THE SEASON //

We’ve had our very first whale cameo of 2026! Yesterday, Wednesday 4 March, a surprise visitor cruised past a little earlier than expected — and yes, we’re buzzing.

🌊 Wednesday, 4 March Whale Sighting
4:40pm — One humpback whale spotted from the Victor Harbor Yacht Club, putting on a mini‑show with some enthusiastic breaching and pec‑slapping. A true crowd‑pleaser. It was spotted again and confirmed at 5pm, travelling west

With the whale season on the horizon, now’s the perfect time to keep watch. Any day could be the next magical moment when one of these ocean giants pops up to say hello.

Curious to learn more about our local marine life — including our iconic Southern Right Whales? Drop into the South Australian Whale Centre and explore our museum and learn more about these giants of the deep.

And if you spot a whale, we’d love to hear about it! Share your sighting with us on Instagram, Facebook, or through our website:
