Another Burns Beach scene. Taken the same evening as my previous post, just as the sun was hitting the horizon. Compositions here are endless.

The northern end of Burns Beach and it’s ever changing rock formations. I always find myself returning here with the camera or drone. This image was taken after sunset with only the last bit of residual light highlighting the rock. A 6 second exposure was used, enough to smooth out the water somewhat without losing too much texture, while isolating the rock.

This is the first of several posts from a flight I did today at sunrise in the Lancelin dunes. Strong winds the day/ night before left amazing patterns in the sand. This time of day also provides really nice directional light which will be seen better in a later post.

This was taken towards the end of winter on a small and difficult to access beach north of Sugarloaf. It is only accessible by walking a section of the cape to cape track. Like most west coast beaches at the time it had suffered from major storm erosion. Sugarloaf rock is just visible in the top left of the image.

A point of view only seen by those with an eye in the sky. This is a nice example of what the direction of light can do to shadows.

A simple scene but I like it. Lucky to get some colour in the sky to match the boat.

A classic south west sunset over a south west icon. This picture also reminds me how well the 1/2 inch sensor in the Mavic Air 2 performs.
