He has brothers and sisters so no he is not alone, he is a stunningly beautiful little creature that we hope gets the chance to grow up 🥰

Hi all
Over the past 15 years or so, we’ve spent countless hours photographing wildlife in the Australian high country. Along the way, we’ve been lucky enough to come across a few dingo dens.

At a different den from the one we shared in our previous post, we recently met the most gorgeous little pup. Honestly, he may be the most beautiful dingo pup I’ve ever seen. This little tan male has all the sweetness and charm you could hope for in an alpine dingo. 😍

We hope he grows up safe and strong and gets to enjoy a long, happy life in the high country—far away from the terrible threat of 1080 poison. 🧡🐾

Hi all
For nearly 15 years, we’ve been hiking through Australia’s High Country with camera in hand. We’ve experienced just about every kind of weather the seasons can bring, including some very extreme conditions and have encountered many of the animals that call this beautiful part of the country home.
The brumbies have featured heavily in our photography for the most part but we have taken a big step back re all things brumby in recent times. We still photograph the brumbies , we just don’t share those images publicly anymore, we still love the brumbies 🐴❤️
I have always said that seeing a dingo whilst we’re out hiking makes the whole experience even more special and over the years we have had some incredible encounters with our alpine dingoes.
We all know that this time of year dingo pups are emerging from their dens and 😍 aren’t they just gorgeous.
Seeing a wild dingo pup is truly a special experience, and one that few people get to witness, we feel very blessed 🙏🏻
Over the years we have found several dens ,some still being used today 🙂
One particular den we have been watching for over one month now. Watching the babies grow ,they are all such chunky ,healthy little babies , so adorable 🥰
The first photo in this post is of when we first visited the den on 10-9-26 when the pups were approx 5 weeks old and the rest of the photos are of two of the pups at the same den taken earlier this week, the pups being approx 9-10 weeks old now.
I will do another post of when we first visited the den almost one month ago but for now 🥰🐕🇦🇺

I must say that we always respect the dingoes space.
Never overstep the mark and keep a good distance from the den.

Why are our alpine dingoes being labelled “wild dogs”? Is it to make the use of 1080 baits easier to justify?

Whatever they’re called, they are living animals—and 1080 poisoning causes a slow, horrific death. NPWS baiting campaigns continue across Kosciuszko National Park, with warning signs appearing year after year. What chance do the newest members of the alpine dingo population have?

The other week, I hiked about 9 kilometres through the bush—more than three hours—to a remote area where I’d seen dingo pups on two occasions over the years. It’s a place people rarely go.

A dingo family was there, and the den was being used. 😍 I stayed only briefly, took a few photos, then left them in peace.

Since then, I can’t stop thinking about those pups. Will they be allowed to grow up—or will they become victims of another baiting campaign? 😔

The scale of the baiting is deeply concerning. I understand that a single pallet can contain 3240 individual meat baits, and that 6 pallets have been delivered recently to NPWS down here. That’s approx 19,500 individual pieces of 1080 baited meat that will be distributed over the coming months, I know right 😱
True !!

The details of NPWS baiting campaigns are publicly advertised: when and where they happen, and what methods are planned so this post isn’t sharing any secrets !

We need to ask why this is happening, and whether poisoning is the answer. These are alpine dingoes, part of our natural world. They deserve protection and a future.

There are alpine dingoes in our wildlife parks and zoos across Australia for crying out aloud yet they are being killed in the most horrific way.
In saying that I can’t help but think of the old grainy footage of the last of our Thylacines, poor thing.
I know that a very high percentage of our country’s alpine dingoes live up in Kosciusko National Park and over the many years I have been hiking up there I have witnessed first hand the baiting campaign increase to scale that is really beyond belief.

I do hope these pups get a chance in life 🙏🏻

Hi all
I wanted to go out and try to find the black and white female alpine dingo that I have done a few posts about in the past. I hadn't seen her for over one month so off I went in search. I hadn't been out to her area for a good 5 weeks so had to go see 🙂
It was a gorgeous morning. Foggy mornings in spring are just the best. You can hear nature waking up, just amazing.
After about 40 minutes I arrived down in an area where she sometimes frequents. Could that be her over there up on that rock ?
I sat on a rock also and waited a while for the sun to come up and warm the ground.
Did you know that when the ground absorbs the solar energy it heats the air directly above it and as the temperature rises the tiny water droplets in the fog turn into gas ( vapour ) bla bla bla....

It was the beautiful female alpine dingo 😍. She came over for a closer look at the human ( not too close ) and yep, she is still gorgeous.
She lay down in the morning sun, howled back at the dingoes in the distance then decided to go for a nap.
Good times spent with these beautiful creatures...
Nature is the best medicine...

⚠️ WARNING DEAD KANGAROO ⚠️

Hi , I thought I may as well share these videos that I took this morning as someone may like to see them.
We ducked up the mtn for a quick 13. 7 kms this morning, we were back home by 11 am.
Good exercise and good times spent with our dingoes.
This particular dingo we have met several times and I must say that he is the best looking dingo up the mtn ( in my book )
I filmed these vids with a 600ml lens so they may be a bit shaky, it was very windy.
He is such a gorgeous dingo.
