Hi all
She has to be one of the prettiest dingoes I have ever seen / met.
She is just adorable 🥰
I have met this girl three times now and everytime she has howled for me, sung for me ☺️
Did you know that..
Dingoes do not bark like domestic dogs; instead, they communicate through a distinctive melodic howl often referred to as "singing." They use these vocalizations to find pack members, establish territory, and coordinate with one another over long distances.
Their howls are complex, modulating pitches that can carry up to 10 kilometres. When multiple dingoes howl together, they harmonise in a chorus to make the pack sound larger.

Hi all
Two days ago when we set off our hike we weren’t 20 minutes into the hike when Ian hand signalled me to stop ✋🏻. He whispered “pigs”
It was still quite dark so I put the camera in auto and hoped for the best re images quality.
Surprisingly the images came out ok, not fantastic but you can make the pigs out.
The pregnant pig ( well she certainly looked pregnant ) looked up at us and gave a little grunt / snort sound and at first couldn’t work us out as it was a bit dark then “grunt grunt” and they took off.
We should have stayed hidden until the sun came up a bit more and maybe even a few dingoes may have come on the scene because about 5 minutes after the pigs ran off we saw three dingoes wander past not too far away.
We went up to see what they had been up to and took two pics ( see pics ) then later in the day after meeting up with Angela we found a pig skull so they are definitely out there.
Not often do we see pigs as they are very elusive but we have seen them before over the years.

Hi all
I will call this post part 1 of 2 👍🏻
Now what happened in these images happened in less than two minutes.
I was having a break ,watching a few roos in the area when an Alpine Dingo appeared over the crest of the hill. He must of have breakfast on his mind because after a quick look at me his attention turned to the two roos that were closest to him and just like that he was off after them. It all happened so quick ,I wish I had of zoomed in a bit.
He chased the two Roos down the hill and into the small wetland area. The Roos escaped the chase and bounced off out of sight.
I’ve seen quite a few encounters in my time hiking where dingoes are off chasing roos and surprisingly the roos get away most of the time when being chased across the plains. The dingoes are smart and know that chasing the roos into wetlands or towards waterways ,into the creek ,into the reeds will slow them down significantly. That’s where I see most kills up here, in or besides a waterway of some kind, clever dingoes, thats what I have observed over time , very clever dingoes.
This particular dingo after the roos had escaped looked over at a few of the big bucks ( male roos ) that were just grazing away peacefully. Not a good idea I thought and luckily for the dingo he thought the same, turned and wandered off in the opposite direction. One swift kick from one of those big males could mean lights out for the dingo so off he went………

Hi all
What an amazing / awesome hike we had today up in the mountains.
Myself ,Ian and we met up with Angela a bit later on and off we went on yet another adventure up in the high country.
A bit overcast at times ,about 3 minutes of drizzle is all, pigs (big fat pigs 😱), skippy’s and of course our gorgeous Alpine dingoes.
I took a heap of images today ( not as many as some 🤦🏻‍♂️😀 ) so will do a few posts over the coming days.
Just such a beautiful part of the world. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else 🙂🐕❤️🇦🇺

Hi all
A few more pics from the other days 14 km walk through the bush and across the plains.
We saw 7 Dingoes in total.
Found a den which we won’t go and investigate again until after a few weeks Into September and it will be from a distance !!
A lovely part of the world up where the wild ones live.
I have met these Alpine dingoes before and no I wasn’t as close as one may think 👍🏻

The first pic might confuse a few people ,sorry about that.
“ how can there be a tan (proper) dingo with others that are not dingo”
That I know is what many people ( haters) will be scratching their heads over 🤔
The answer to your confusion is simple !
They are all Dingoes . Alpine dingoes 🐕❤️🇦🇺

Hi all
For those that keep telling me to stop calling them Alpine dingoes we saw 5 Alpine dingoes this morning in our 13 km hike 🏔️🐕 👍🏻
I took many photos like I do so will share them over the next few days or so.
This particular Alpine dingo 🏔️🐕 we have met once before and last time we met him he was all bloodied from eating a kangaroo carcass. Well today wasn’t much different his coat just wasn’t as bloody as last time we saw him.
This Alpine dingo 🏔️🐕 was eating a wallaby that he or another Alpine dingo 🏔️🐕 had caught.
The Alpine dingoes 🏔️🐕 teeth are always so so clean ,obviously from munching on all those bones 🦴🦴 so white and clean.
In over 13 years of going bush and photographing our Alpine dingoes 🏔️🐕 we have never had any issues with them regarding our safety.
Do the right thing and all will be fine 👌🏻
We do and have always carried what we call Alpine dingo 🏔️🐕 deterrent 🙂

Hi all
I love the cold frosty mornings. Everything is white and it makes for a gorgeous landscape. It’s worth heading off before sun up in -6,-7 temps. Love it 🥶🌳
We did almost 17 kms crossing the plains and through the bush looking for dingoes.
We saw 5 in total and probably heard well over 10 when the dingoes all started howling at “howl o’clock” we call it.
Was a beautiful day up there.

Hi all
It’s up to the dingo and strictly on his terms !!

In regards to how close we get to the dingoes I have mentioned before that when we see the dingoes we head over towards them and probably sit and watch from a good 70,80 odd metres away. If the dingo or dingoes wants to come over then they will ,simple 🙂
These images were taken last Saturday and sort of explain how close we get to the dingoes.
Never to we invade their space. They simply will see us from a distance and if the come over then bonus 🙂
Most of the time the dingoes or at least one or two of them will come over to check us out just like this male has done in these pictures.
We love visiting our Alpine dingoes
