What an incredible part of the world to visit. 🥰

K'gari formally known as Frazer Island the world's largest sand island and an area of remarkable natural beauty. It was listed as a World Heritage Area in 1992 to recognise the island's internationally significant natural features….
evolving dune, lake, soil and forest systems, the extent and age of which are outstanding examples of ongoing geological and biological processes
unique landscapes, which are examples of superlative natural occurrences.

During the Autumn months is Wongari (Dingo) feeding seasons for the pups which makes them quite territorial. Once new born pups arrive, their mothers may be aggressive. They need to find food for themselves and their pups. Alpha mothers are very domineering during this stage, even killing another mother’s pups if she has mated with one of the pack. It’s all about survival of the strongest and the alpha pair want their pups to survive.

Can you believe the sand island is 120km long?!
Only 20km longer than Bruny Island in Tasmania.
