Last night I drove down to Opossum Bay, South Arm hoping for a cracking sunset...the sky was a little muted and the cloud low and thick on the horizon so I packed up and left when most of the colour had disappeared. That was my first mistake! As I was driving down the road towards South Arm beach the sky erupted in brilliant reds...I took a side road and headed towards the beach, jumped out of the car, grabbed my camera bag, tripod and ran down the sandy laneway to the foreshore - I still had time! but I didn't have time to set up my ND grads that fit the lens for the 6D so I grabbed the 70D that already had the wide angle and ND filter already fitted and ran for it to the waters edge......clamp! the clamp to attach to the tripod was on the 6D!!! so I ran back and grabbed the clamp, swapped it over and ran back to the tripod - there's still a little colour phew. I fired a couple of test shots.....battery!!! the battery went flat arrgghhh! So I ran back to the camera bag and decided to use the 6D and attach the adapter and ND grads anyway even though the reds were starting to fade....so I ran back to the beach so fast a passing seagull flying past nearly hit me in the head! I took a few more pretty average photos and then headed home. I'd love to share some of the reds I did get but they're on my 70D and now I'm in Launceston....can't win!! So what's the moral of this story?...ALWAYS stay twenty minutes after sunset have a clamp on every camera you own and don't leave you camera bag so far way from where you are shooting ;)

I have had so many adventures lately. Both in life and in photography. But I've been a little more than slack in sharing my amazing moments with you all. So this post filled with all my recent adventures should show you what I've been up to for the last few weeks in Tasmania.

Making my way to the Bay of Fires Lodge from Ansons Bay. Waded through estuaries, across sand dunes, walked stretches of white beaches, over huge granite rocks to arrive at the most relaxing place on earth with the best views. A day I will never forget.
