In the previous video we posted we were doing some washing off-grid. That uses a fair bit of water, so we needed to top the tanks up a bit. Where we were camped there were taps, you just could not stay hooked up. The solution… a Jerry can, transfer pump and battery pack. Oh and a bit of walking backwards and forwards. This one might suit you if, like us, you love camping off grid and don’t have a water bladder.

Simple water transfer idea for off grid caravaners on a budget

This is another short video, this time about how we transfer water from a jerry can to our caravan tanks when camping off grid. In this case we were not conn...

When we were travelling around over Easter we needed to do a load (or two) of washing. We weren't on a powered site so we thought we would much around and see whether we could get the van's washing machine working using the inverter in the car.

Check it out, it actually worked. Pretty good solution, reducing our reliance on powered sites.

Have you ever needed to do a load of washing off grid? We have.In this quick video I show what we did to get our 240V Aussie Traveller washing machine runnin...

Another video uploaded and live on YouTube, in my series of things we did before heading away for a couple of weeks. This time covering some exposed pipes with some left over lagging. This is a pretty simple job that doesn’t cost a lot and you can do with common tools.

A few weeks back we posted a bunch of photos as we travelled through NSW and Victoria. Before we left I did a bunch of jobs on the caravan. The first was replacing a faulty switch on my BlackJack.
We have just posted a video on our Youtube channel about how it was done.

In this video I replace a faulty switch in a Blackjack caravan jack and jockey wheel. I installed the Blackjack onto the caravan about six months or so befor...

These things are not all that uncommon, but we were surprised to have our morning treat delivered by a robot in a small country town bakery 😂
Any one else had surprise service at a bakery? Let us know in the comments below.

Day 8 of our Easter break. We decided to stop at the Albury Showgrounds. I didn’t take a lot of pictures other than to to show it’s not always awesome bush campsites. For $30 we filled the water tanks, did some washing and fully recharged the batteries. With all of that done it is time to head for home, and return to our ordinary life for a while.

Day 7 of our Easter break saw us leave Cohuna and drop in to Cactus Country. It was a place we had heard of but had never been in the area. Was it worth it. I reckon it was. We spent an hour or so there. Great parking area for vans and a really interesting walk through a number of winding paths. And so many cacti to check out.

Koondrook wharf, in the tiny but wonderful town of Koondrook, VIC has some amazing photo opportunities. It is right on the Murray River and part of an interesting historic precinct. Not far away is Gunbower Island with walks through the famous River Red Gums.

Snags by the Edward River in a low cost campsite. Hard to imagine this campsite is in the town limits and only costs the $6 NPWS booking fee. Seems to be worth it to me. And the hidden gem here is the location of the first free bridge across the river. Love to know what cool little things like this you have found in your travels.

Next campsite at Narrandera and just in time for the annual show and shine and hot rod cruise.

Less than awesome part of our break. The van tyre departed and we were stuck in outback NSW for a few days waiting for tyre studs. Thankfully we had Starlink, plenty of water and after a week a few days were able to get back on the road under our own steam.
