Southern Suburbs Photographic Society Inc. Southern Suburbs is a camera and photography club for all grades and types of photographers. Ample parking is available in the service road.

Meetings are held at 8.00pm in the St Matthew's hall, Nepean Highway, Cheltenham,
on the first Tuesday of the month for talks/presentations, on the second Tuesday for skills sessions,

I captured STEVE the (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement) phenomena during an aurora event observed from Rickett's Point, Beaumaris, on the night of 15/8/2015. SSPS HAD A GREAT OUTING TO BRAESIDE PARK THIS MORNING WITH 17 members attending!! There were quite a few birds around despite reports that it was a quiet time!! Our amazing camera club has started 2024 very well winning the Best Club in prints at the recent Warragul National as well as beating Cheltenham UK in an Interclub competition!! Next weekend we will find out how we faired in the VAPS competition!! This competition embraces images from all affiliated camera clubs across Victoria!!
Our outings so far have included a sunset shoot on Mordialloc Pier, an outing to Melbourne Uni & yesterday a city walk looking for dramatic shadow images for our next monthly competition!!
SO WHY NOT JOIN THIS EXCITING, VIBRANT & BUSY CLUB???

This month at our camera club we have a mobile phone image competition!! The committee decided last year to ‘run’ this competition to show that good images can be taken on a phone & to encourage people without fancy camera gear to join our amazing club!!
